  • Patent number: 4381785
Abstract: The device comprises a hollow, soft rubber baglet which is mounted in the front of a curved shield which positions the baglet in the infant's mouth. The shield is provided with an elongated rectangular opening having peripheral extensions forwardly and rearwardly to form a socket opening. The forwardly extending portion is wider to form a shoulder at the front of the shield. A pair of spaced flat rectangular members are joined at their central rear edges by an integral loop which loosely holds the circular handle for the device. The flat members are provided adjacent their front outer ends with wedge portions forming exterior shoulders. At their opposed faces, the flat members are provided with raised transverse strips which act as pivotal separators for the members. The baglet is pulled through the shield opening so that its open beaded end faces rearwardly. The flat members are inserted in the baglet opening and the assembly is then forced into the rectangular opening in the shield.

  • Patent number: 4378948
Abstract: The safety closure latch includes a stop member depending from the upper wall of the drawer opening. The stop member is generally rectangular and has a pair of vertically aligned rectangular openings. The latch member is mounted on the inner face of the front vertical wall of the drawer adjacent the top. The latch member comprises a mounting base and a pair of vertically spaced parallel arms extending horizontally from the base into the drawer. Each arm terminates in a hooked end having a shoulder, the hook on the upper arm extending upwardly and the hook on the lower arm extending downwardly. The arms are so aligned that when the drawer is closed, the arms will slide into the aligned openings of the stop member, the hook portion on the upper arm snapping by the upper edge of the upper opening, and the hook portion of the lower arm snapping by the lower edge of the lower opening.

  • Patent number: 4082351
Abstract: A safety cover for a door knob is designed to complicate the opening of the door by small children but permits the opening of the door by other persons by proper manipulation of the safety cover. A pair of inner and outer annular cover parts with interengaging fastening formations surround the shank and door knob. A resilient pressure pad is carried by the outer cover part between a flexible wall portion thereof and the front surface of the door knob. The safety cover when turned by a small child rotates freely on the door knob. When a sufficient force is applied to the flexible wall portion of the outer cover part, the resilient pressure pad is urged against the front surface of the door knob to frictionally grip same thus permitting the safety cover to turn the door knob.

  • Patent number: 4070078
Abstract: The safety cover encloses an electric outlet to keep such outlet and the electrical plugs inserted therein out of reach of babies, infants and children of tender years to prevent injuries. It includes a plate mounted over the electrical outlet to expose the sockets and which has a pair of spaced apart latching elements. A pair of hollow closure elements are hingedly connected to the plate and are provided with spaced apart flexible abutments engageable with the latching elements for securing the closure elements against different areas of the plate to thereby enclose the sockets and electrical plugs. Babies and small children are not strong enough to release the closure elements and are thus prevented from touching the outlet and plugs. However, adults and grown children have sufficient strength and know-how and can remove the closure elements for the latched position by applying a force thereto which release the flexible abutments from the latching elements.
