Patent number: 9025500Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and apparatus for maximizing the spectral efficiency of a communications spectrum by providing a means to transmit information continuously in both directions of a radio link on the same center frequency at any given time. One embodiment may be directed to a method of communicating in a point-to-point radio system. The method may include receiving a first signal at a first antenna of a radio head. The first signal may include a transmitted data signal and interfering signals. The method continues by determining a correction signal from a transmitter of the radio head and processing the first signal to remove the interfering signals using the correction signal, and sending a second signal using a second antenna. The first and second signals may be sent and received at substantially the same time.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2013Date of Patent: May 5, 2015Assignee: REMEC Broadband Wireless, LLCInventors: Charles Bowman, Behzad Moeenziai

Patent number: 8750792Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods, apparatuses, and systems for implementing a point-to-point radio architecture in which the isolation needed between the transmitter and receiver may be achieved through the use of separate antennas. One embodiment is directed at a radio head comprising a transmitter configured to operate at a first frequency, a receiver configured to operate at a second frequency, and a processor coupled to both the transmitter and the receiver. The transmitter is further coupled to a first antenna interface coupled to a first antenna configured to transmit signals at the first frequency. The receiver is further coupled to a second antenna interface coupled to a second antenna configured to receive signals at the second frequency.Type: GrantFiled: March 15, 2013Date of Patent: June 10, 2014Assignee: Remec Broadband Wireless, LLCInventors: Charles Bowman, Behzad Moeenziai

Patent number: 8731007Abstract: A microwave radio terminal capable of multiple gigabits/sec bit rate is provided. The radio terminal may use QAM modulation, including the two lowest modulation formats of BPSK and QPSK. The serial bit stream, including forward error correction (FEC) and all other overhead, is prepared in a digital circuit, such as a filed programmable gate array (FPGA) and is output serially, using SERDES devices inside the FPGA, as two separate channels known as “I-channel” and “Q-channel”.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2010Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Remec Broadband Wireless, LLCInventors: Idan Bar-Sade, Eliezer Pasternak, John Park, Bin Zhang

Patent number: 8731030Abstract: The method for transmission a set of digital data is provided. The method comprises: (A) processing a received signal transmitted from a preceding site by at least one repeater located in a repeater hub in a processing site. The received signal includes a microwave carrier, whereas the processing compensates the received microwave signal for degradation due to propagation between the preceding site and the processing site. The method further comprises the step (B) of conditioning the received microwave signal for subsequent transmission from the processing site to a subsequent site.Type: GrantFiled: March 20, 2012Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Assignee: Remec Broadband Wireless LLCInventors: Patric Wood McDonald, Charles Wayne Bowman
