Abstract: The present invention is directed to devices, methods and kits for cell-specific sorting of cells from a mixed population, e.g., from a tumor sample. Aspects of the invention combine aligned, electrospun microfibers with drug- or protein-releasing nanospheres to isolate cancer cells from tumor biopsies.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of assembling an array of light emitting diode (LED) dies on a substrate comprising: positioning dies in fluid; exposing the dies to a magnetic force to attract the dies onto magnets that are arranged at pre-determined locations either on or near the substrate; and forming permanent connections between the dies and the substrate thereby constituting an array of LED dies on a substrate.

Abstract: Epoxy-functionallized polymeric microbeads and dispersions thereof may be prepared using a cationic non-aqueous dispersion-suspension photopolymerization. The polymeric microbeads may be further modified with a variety of additional groups by reaction with various reagents with the epoxy moities.
Abstract: Enhancement of the rates of cationic polymerizations initiated by onium salts has been achieved through the use of oligomeric and polymeric electron-transfer photosensitizers derived from a polymerizable compound substituted with a polynuclear aromatic group, including epoxides, oxetanes, and ethylenically unsaturated compounds. The polymerizable compound is substituted with residues derived from anthracene, naphthalene, perylene, pyrene, fluorene, carbazole, indole, benzocarbazole, acridone, phenothiazine, and thianthrene, particularly carbazole.
