Abstract: An apparatus for processing thermoset cross-linked elastomeric scrap material has a batch-operated high shear mixer for inducing chemical reactions to partly devulcanize the material in a first devulcanizing stage. A continuously-operated multi-screw cooled extruder receives the partly devulcanized material from the high shear mixer and further devulcanizes the material by a mechanical shearing action in a second stage to produce an extruded product for revulcanization.
Abstract: An injection molding machine includes means for plasticizing rubber material and injectors for injecting the material in a fluid state into a flow channel having at least one outlet in communication with an internal volume of a mold. The flow channel is provided with at least one inverter device for inverting a radial temperature profile in the flow of the fluid material, between upstream and downstream ends of the at least one inverter device.
Abstract: This machine includes means for plasticizing the material and injection means suitable for injecting the material in the fluid state into a flow channel (30), said flow channel having at least one outlet suitable for being put into communication with the internal volume of a mold. The flow channel (30) is provided with at least one inverter device (50) suitable for inverting the radial temperature profile in the flow of the fluid material, between upstream and downstream of each inverter device.
