Abstract: An automatic apparatus and method for steeping tea which can (i) precisely and automatically control the temperature of the steeping water and the manner in which the water contacts the tea, (ii) retain the tea in a submerged position in the apparatus below the predetermined steeping level of the steeping water, (iii) optimally determine and control the steeping time, (iv) automatically dispense the steeped syrup when the steeping time and process are complete, (v) automatically notify the user of the status of the process, and (vi) provide and accommodate interchangeable steeping chambers formed of different materials which can be selected to provide optimum results for the particular teas chosen by the user, and to enhance the tea making process, as well as serving a decorative function.
