  • Patent number: 11738332
Abstract: The present invention discloses a series of ammonia decomposition catalysts, the method of making such catalysts and the use of such catalysts. The said catalysts are made of composite metal or metal alloys supported on composite oxides or nitrides as the catalyst supports. The catalysts are useful in ammonia decomposition at various temperatures and pressures, including temperatures below 500° C. and pressures up to 30 atm.

  • Patent number: 5320596
Abstract: A cervical orthosis is provided which supports the weight of the head with a chin support having a pair of transverse members extending rearward from the chin support to the wearer's shoulder. The transverse members are joined at the shoulder to a pair of vertical members which travel down the wearer's back. The orthosis is secured to the wearer by means of a belt attached to the lower ends of the transverse member which is fastened about the wearer's torso. In a preferred embodiment the orthosis is formed of one continuous piece of a suitably rigid material and conforms to the contours of the wearer's body. A method of forming a customized orthosis to conform to the contours of a wearer positioned in a desired posture is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4366144
Abstract: Pharmacologically acceptable chemotactic agents when applied to gingival crevices cause the migration of crevicular fluid containing crevicular leucocytes into the said gingival crevice.A quantitative correlation has been found between the amount of crevicular fluid migrating into the crevice and the crevicular fluid migrating into the crevice and the crevicular leucocytes contained therein after chemotactic challenge. It has further been shown that the amount of fluid and leucocytes migrating into said crevice gave a predictable relationship to the migratory activity of leucocytes obtained from the same subject when measured by conventional in vitro means.A rapid, convenient and simple method is thus provided for detecting certain diseases involving leucocyte migratory activity abnormalities for example diabetes mellitus and periodontosis.

  • Patent number: 4357174
Abstract: A destainer for electrophoresis slab gels includes a housing having a height along its vertical axis equal to or less than its length and width thereby forming relatively short end walls which are provided with a plurality of apertures. A stain absorbing material is placed within the housing and prevented from leaving the housing by means of a porous material which permits the free flow of liquid into and out of the housing.
