Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and device for sharing a candidate list. A method of generating a merging candidate list for a predictive block may include: producing, on the basis of a coding block including a predictive block on which a parallel merging process is performed, at least one of a spatial merging candidate and a temporal merging candidate of the predictive block; and generating a single merging candidate list for the coding block on the basis of the produced merging candidate. Thus, it is possible to increase processing speeds for coding and decoding by performing inter-picture prediction in parallel on a plurality of predictive blocks.

Abstract: A tomographic imaging system receives measurements at a set of frequencies of a wavefield scattered by an internal structure of an object, recursively reconstructs an image of the internal structure of the object until a termination condition is met, and renders the reconstructed image. For a current iteration, the system adds a frequency to a previous set of frequencies used during a previous iteration to produce a current set of frequencies, such that the added frequency is higher than any frequency in the previous set of frequencies, and reconstructs a current image of the internal structure of the object that minimizes a difference between a portion of the scattered wavefield measured at the current set of frequencies and a wavefield synthetized from the current image. A previous image determined during the previous iteration initializes the reconstruction of the current image.

Abstract: A swimming posture correction method and a swimming posture correction system, adapted for a computing apparatus to correct a swimming posture of a swimmer using at least two gravity sensors, are provided. The gravity sensors are respectively disposed at ends of at least two limbs of the swimmer performing a relative stroke action. In the method, body parameters of the swimmer are obtained and a reference index of coordination for implementing a swimming posture suitable for the body parameters is captured. A stroke of the limb is monitored using the gravity sensors to obtain a timing diagram of the limbs performing a stroke promotion action. Then, an index of coordination of the swimmer is calculated by analyzing the timing diagram and compared with the reference index of coordination so as to prompt for correcting the swimming posture according to a comparison result.

Abstract: Scanning Laser Epitaxy (SLE) is a layer-by-layer additive manufacturing process that allows for the fabrication of three-dimensional objects with specified microstructure through the controlled melting and re-solidification of a metal powders placed atop a base substrate. SLE can be used to repair single crystal (SX) turbine airfoils, for example, as well as the manufacture functionally graded turbine components. The SLE process is capable of creating equiaxed, directionally solidified, and SX structures. Real-time feedback control schemes based upon an offline model can be used both to create specified defect free microstructures and to improve the repeatability of the process. Control schemes can be used based upon temperature data feedback provided at high frame rate by a thermal imaging camera as well as a melt-pool viewing video microscope. A real-time control scheme can deliver the capability of creating engine ready net shape turbine components from raw powder material.
