  • Patent number: 12020682
Abstract: A method for Parametric resynthesis (PR) producing an audible signal. A degraded audio signal is received which includes a distorted target audio signal. A prediction model predicts parameters of the audible signal from the degraded signal. The prediction model was trained to minimize a loss function between the target audio signal and the predicted audible signal. The predicted parameters are provided to a waveform generator which synthesizes the audible signal.

  • Patent number: 12020404
Abstract: Methods for detecting contaminants on optical fiber connectors incorporate statistically based routines that include processing of one or more digital images to dynamically determine fiber locations and boundaries, detect contamination in fiber locations, dynamically detect ferrule boundaries, detect contamination in ferrule locations, and collect resulting data. Sequential masking and detection permits detection of contaminants in a first region non-coincident with a first mask image, and in a second region non-coincident with a second mask image. Dynamic determination of locations and boundaries for structures such as fibers, ferrules, and pins or pinhole features address limitations associated with static determination of locations and boundaries for these structures. Specific routines or routines are provided for single- and multi-fiber connectors, including single fiber connectors having physical contact and angled physical contact polishes.

  • Patent number: 12020823
Abstract: An Integrated Virtual Patient Framework (IVPF) for providing decision support that evolves with increasing data collected on a given patient. Support decisions for patients with limited data is made using statistical prediction tools derived from historical trajectories of similar patients. As patient histories grow, decision support is provided by mathematical models that constrain the possible dynamics of the patient to more detailed predictive models. Weights for each model are assigned depending on uncertainties arising from data fitting and model properties. As new data are entered into a patient record, the models are recalibrated and the weights are adjusted, leading to updated decision support information. The framework also suggests the benefit of additional follow-up data collection events, optimizing the data collection as well as how the IVPF generates predictions. The framework also may present scenarios to patients in a way that informs them of treatment outcomes, given various strategies.

Abstract: A computing device loads signal strengths of wireless communication signals collected at a plurality of first collection areas and position information of the first collection areas, sets positions of a plurality of virtual transmitting apparatuses. The computing device estimates signal strengths of wireless communication signals in a plurality of second collection areas based on a distance between a position of each of the virtual transmitting apparatuses and each of the first collection areas, a signal strength collected at each of the first collection areas, and a distance between a position of each of the virtual transmitting apparatuses and each of the second collection areas. The computing device determines an optimal virtual transmitting apparatus among the virtual transmitting apparatuses, and generates positioning data at the second collection areas based on signal strengths in the second collection areas which are estimated based on a position of the optimal virtual transmitting apparatus.

  • Patent number: 12019240
Abstract: An apparatus installed in a head-mounted display (HMD) has a coupling prism formed by packing diagonally-reflective (DR) prisms together. Each DR prism has an internal diagonal plane that is at least partially reflective. A captured image of eye or environmental scene received by a DR prism is reflected to an image-leaving end surface thereof. Image-leaving end surfaces of all DR prisms are oriented along a same direction to optically multiplex the captured images to create a multi-channel image. An imaging sensor on the coupling prism images the multi-channel image, avoiding inter-channel interference caused by spillover of captured-image signals while allowing one imaging sensor instead of multiple ones to image the captured images. A micro display displays a visible image to one DR prism, whose internal diagonal plane reflects the visible image along a direction towards an eye. Hence, the apparatus also enables image displaying to a HMD wearer.
