Abstract: A lighting assembly using light emitting diodes provides low leakage current that does not require an external ballast. The lighting assembly can replace a fluorescent tube light while providing a more comfortable and steady light source, consuming less power and with enhanced longevity. The lighting assembly includes a tube, a light emitting diode panel disposed within the tube, a circuit board disposed within the tube, and insulation disposed between the light emitting diode panel and the circuit board. At least a portion of the tube is translucent. The light emitting diode panel includes light emitting diodes, and the circuit board includes a driving circuit for driving the light emitting diodes.
