    Abstract: The present invention relates to the production of vaccines having improved safety, particularly to a process therefor which allows even an AIDS vaccine to be manufactured, comprising in order, the steps of:a) treating the virus with a general inactivating agent;b) deaggregating the virus with a suitable solvent or detergent;c) treating the virus with an RNA and/or DNA inactivating agent; andd) stabilizing the virus with a suitable cross-linking agent.
