Abstract: A modulated vehicle cruise control system includes a source of vacuum, a servo transducer or control unit connected to the source of vacuum, an engine throttle position servo connected to the servo, a speed sensor and a logic circuit or command module. A modulator is disposed in series with and between the control unit and the source of vacuum. The modulator limits opening movement of the engine throttle by modulating communication of vacuum to the servo to prevent inefficient engine operation.

Abstract: An athletic shoe is disclosed which is primarily adapted for use in rapid start-stop sports, such as tennis, racquetball, handball and the like. The athletic shoe includes a sole, an upper secured to the sole and a toe cap which is secured to the sole and the upper. The toe cap defines a plurality of narrow slits which extend generally longitudinally of the sole. The narrow slits increase the flexibility of the toe cap and provide room for the toes of the user during rapid stops primarily to prevent bruising of the big toe.
Abstract: A training aid primarily adapted to teach a tennis player proper form includes a hood, a headband, and an indicator for indicating when the user's head is tilted downwardly. The hood restricts peripheral vision and requires concentration on the ball. The indicator and hood may move relative to each other so that the indicator moves into the user's field of vision upon tilting of the hood.
