  • Patent number: 6447251
Abstract: The fan blade is used for a cooling fan assembly to be coupled to the shaft of a motor for rotation about an axis. The fan blade has a curved leading edge and a curved trailing edge with an outer edge which defines an arc between a forward position and a rearward position. The fan blade leading edge is forwardly swept in the region from 0.5RL to the forward position wherein RL is the length of a straight line from the axis to the forward position. The swept angle &agr;L formed by lines extending from the axis to the blade leading edge at 0.5RL and to the forward position is at least 35 degrees. The camber ratio calculated by HL/LL is larger than 0.10 but less than 0.20. The blade trailing edge is also forwardly swept in the region of 0.5RT to the rearward position wherein RT is the length of a straight line from the axis to the rearward position. The swept angle &agr;T formed by lines extending from the axis to the blade trailing edge at 0.

  • Patent number: 5551836
Abstract: A high pressure blower assembly includes a spiral-type blower housing, impeller wheel and a baffle arrangement disposed proximate the inlet of the blower housing. The baffle arrangement includes a first baffle segment extending from the inlet into the inner periphery of the impeller wheel, a second baffle segment having a generally curved portion that terminates at an apex region located proximate the cut-off point of the blower housing, and a generally curved third baffle segment, disposed proximate the impeller wheel, that joins the second baffle segment.

  • Patent number: 4025231
Abstract: A propeller fan construction is provided in which the impeller thereof includes a spider member having a plurality of symmetrically arranged planar marginal portions, and a plurality of blades projecting outwardly from the spider member. Each blade has an inner end provided with a planar segment which is fixedly mounted on a planar marginal portion of the spider member. The spider member and each of the blades are formed of sheet material. Each blade is provided with an elongated embossment extending from one elongated edge of the blade in an angular direction relative to the longitudinal axis of the blade. The embossment is position between the outer end of the blade and the planar segment of the inner end.
