Abstract: A system includes a conduit and a gasket assembly. The conduit includes a body and has a bell defining an opening disposed at one end of the conduit. The bell includes a ridge defining a circumferential internal groove, a sloping portion defining an internal recessed area and disposed adjacent to the ridge, and an abutment end inwardly extending from the sloping portion in a direction that is perpendicular to a central axis defined by the bell. The gasket assembly is disposed within the internal groove. The gasket assembly includes a plurality of gripping inserts each comprising a hollow body and an elastomeric gasket having a circular shape and being disposed within the hollow bodies defines by the plurality of gripping inserts.
