Patents Assigned to Revere Copper and Brass, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4492602
Abstract: The present invention relates to novel tin bearing copper alloy compositions that possess a combination of high anneal resistance and high electrical cconductivity properties. These compositions contain about 0.025 to 0.15 weight percent free tin with a weight percent of combined tin that is 3.7 times the oxygen content. Selenium and/or tellurium additions of from 0.005 to 0.05 weight percent also contribute to or maintain the improved properties of the present invention.Other aspects of the invention relate to a process for preparing these anneal resistant, high electrical conductivity copper alloy compositions and an apparatus suitable for use as radiator fin, electrical connector, or commutator segment stock which is formed by such process.

  • Patent number: 4436682
Abstract: A flowable thermoplastic polymer powder is fed to the nip of a pair of cooperatively rotating compression rolls whereupon the polymer feed is passed between the rolls which compact and cause the particles to coalesce into a shaped article which thereupon emerges from between the rolls in the form of a sheet or film. During the operation, the circumferential speed of the rolls is maintained essentially equal to the linear speed of the sheet or film exiting therefrom. The sheet or film is withdrawn from between the rolls under tension at a force which is adjusted so as not to exceed the elastic limit of the resulting sheet or film product. Flowable thermosetting polymer powder is also compacted into fully dense products by feeding the powder to the nip of a pair of cooperatively rotating compression rolls, whereupon the polymer feed is passed between rolls which compact and cause the particles to cold weld.

  • Patent number: 4085187
Abstract: Polymer sheet, strip, or film is compression rolled continuously at ambient temperature between rollers under semiboundary or boundary lubrication conditions to effect a single pass reduction in the thickness of the polymer material of from 19/20 to 1/20 of the original thickness. Polymer films formed by this compression rolling process exhibit increased modulus (stiffness), tensile strength, and (in the case of non-opaque materials) enhanced clarity. The circumferential speed of the rollers is maintained essentially equal to the linear speed of the thermoplastic sheet material passing between the rollers and the film rewind tension is maintained in the vicinity of the elastic limit of the material exiting from the rollers.
