Abstract: A nail lamp is configured to cure light-curable nail product on a user's nails. The lamp includes an array of discrete light sources. A nail treatment space is disposed beneath the array and is sized to accommodate therein at least one nail of a user so as to expose the user's at least one nail to light from the array. The nail lamp includes a number of features to improve the uniformity of exposure of the at least one user nail to light relative to existing lamps. These features include one or more angled surfaces and light reflectors.

Abstract: Skin hydration is necessary to maintain the epidermal barrier, minimize adverse environmental influences, and reduce cell stress. Provided herein are compounds, such as compounds of Formula (I), and pharmaceutically and cosmetically acceptable salts thereof, and compositions, methods, and uses that may be used for skin hydration. Also reported herein is a scalable method for synthesizing compounds of Formula (I). The compounds provided herein are responsible for improved skin penetration and/or retention and are therefore useful for the treatment and/or prevention of various diseases, disorders, or conditions to protect human skin.

Abstract: Polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) and formulations for nail coating are disclosed. By including a POSS in the nail coating topcoat formulation, gloss and hardness of the cured nail coating are improved without compromising removability. If included in the color layer formulation, the POSS provides improved adhesion to the nail such that a base layer is not needed. Incorporating a fatty alcohol methacrylate in the topcoat formulation also improves gloss and hardness. Polyurethane copolymers can provide the cured nail coating with good solvent removability without compromising adhesion to the nail, gloss or hardness.

Abstract: The present embodiments relate to a nail coating having a major advantage in that it enables a nail coating to adhere to a natural nail or uncoated nail for long wear periods without adhesion loss or other signs of breakdown of the coating. Nail topcoats with improved abrasion resistance are also disclosed. Adhesion of a composition for nail coatings be improved by addition of a polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS). Nail coating compositions that benefit from the addition of a POSS include enamels, reactive composition such as those containing acrylates, solventless compositions and water-based compositions.
