Abstract: A closure (5) suitable for mounting onto a container (80). A closure comprises a main closure (10) having a top portion (11) that has an aperture (32) therethrough and a skirt (12) depending downwardly from the top portion (11) that is attachable to the container. A sealing rib (16) extends inwardly from the inner surface of the main closure (10) and is adapted to form a seal with the end portion of the container (80). A spout (33) extends upwardly from the top portion (11) and defines a bore that is in fluid communication with the aperture (32) in the top portion (11). A plug (36) having radially outer surface is mounted to the spout (33). The closure further comprises a top cap (50) that is mountable to the spout and is relatively movable between a first position where the plug (36) seals an opening in the top cap (5) and at least a second position where the plug (36) is withdrawn from the opening.

Abstract: A closure (10) that is suitable for attachment to a container (20) having an end portion defining an opening of the container. The closure comprises a top (11), a skirt (12), a support ring (30) that is engageable with the end portion of the container and which is hingedly connected to the skirt (12), and a sealing rib (13). The sealing rib (13) has a first portion (14) and a second portion (15). The length of the second portion (15) is such that, during attachment of the closure (10) with the end portion of the container (20), the end portion of the container contacts the second portion (15) and pushes it upwardly and at least towards the first portion (14) so as to form a seal between the end portion of the container (20) and the closure (10).
