Abstract: A switch lock apparatus includes a top plate; an insert; a spring; a lock plate; and a bottom plate. The top plate and the bottom plate are rotationally fixably attached. The spring separates a top surface of the lock plate and a bottom surface of the top insert. The insert, the spring, and the lock plate are rotationally fixably attached. The bottom plate includes a space for lodging a portion of the lock plate. The lock plate is substantially rotationally fixably attached when the portion is lodged in the space. The lock plate is rotationally movable with respect to the bottom plate when the portion is not lodged in the space. The insert is attached to a blade portion of a knife. At least one of the top plate and the bottom plate is attached to a handle portion of the knife.
