Abstract: A transparent static dissipative adhesive tape is disclosed. The tape comprises a transparent polymer substrate having opposed first and second surfaces, a transparent static dissipative coating on the first surface of the substrate, and a transparent static dissipative adhesive coating on the second surface of the substrate. The adhesive coating comprises a transparent conductive layer on the second surface formed of conductive particles in a polymer matrix, and a transparent adhesive layer without any conductive particles over the conductive layer. The exposed surface of the adhesive layer exhibits conductivity substantially the same as the conductivity of the underlying conductive layer.

Abstract: Molded articles having contoured, decorative outer surfaces are disclosed. The articles comprise a molded polymer substrate and a decorative surfacing film adhered to one side of the substrate. The decorative surfacing film comprises a substantially molecularly unoriented cast polymer film formed from a weatherable polymer. The articles are particularly suited for use as automobile body panels and the like. Also disclosed is a method for making such articles, and a method for making sets of such articles for assembly into automobile bodies and the like.
Abstract: An antifogging plastic material is disclosed that is particularly suitable for use as a disposable fog-resistant lens. The lens material comprises a substantially transparent polyester substrate; a layer of polyvinylidene chloride-containing polymer on the polyester substrate; a water permeable colloid layer on the polyvinylidene chloride-containing layer; and a polyvinyl alcohol-containing layer on the water permeable colloid layer.
Abstract: The present invention provides a weatherable protective surfacing film which can be laminated to various substrates, such as vinyl outdoor fabrics, by heat and pressure without requiring adhesives. The film has a unitary structure and is comprised of an acrylic polymer/fluoropolymer composition which has a composition gradient across its thickness such that one surface of the film is fluoropolymer-rich to provide excellent weatherability, stain resistance and dirt repellant properties, while the opposite surface of the film is acrylic polymer-rich to give it self-bonding characteristics.
Abstract: The present invention provides surfacing films for the production of articles having uniform, high quality decorative features. The surfacing films have a thermoformable carrier layer that provides enhanced protection of the decorative features of the film during fabrication of the article. The carrier layer may be further utilized to impart a desired finish on the surfacing film during post-forming.
