Patents Assigned to Rheinstahl Aktiengesellschaft
  • Patent number: 4318330
Abstract: A method and apparatus for precisely aligning a top-mounted individually stabilized weapon on an armored vehicle by means of a fire control system including an optical observation and aiming system controlled by the vehicle gunner after a target, which has been optically sighted by the vehicle commander by means of a stabilized panoramic optical device, has been taken over by the vehicle gunner in his own individually stabilized optical device. After sighting a target the vehicle commander initiates a control signal which causes the actual values of position of his panoramic optical device to be transmitted to the stabilization control of the gunner's optical device as rated values resulting in the two optical devices being aligned.

  • Patent number: 4045101
Abstract: A transmission, especially for driving a worm press, in which at least two shafts are supported in parallel relation in a housing with a pair of axially spaced antifriction bearings in the housing for each shaft. Each bearing for each shaft is coplanar with the corresponding bearings of the other shafts. Each bearing outer race has a spherical outer surface and the housing has support members fixed therein with spherical seats engaging the spherical outer surfaces of the bearing outer races. Each bearing outer race is flat on the side facing the adjacent coplanar bearing outer race and compression spring elements are interposed between the flat surfaceswhich are in opposed relation.

  • Patent number: 4042082
Abstract: A device for receiving, from a fixed electric connection, adapting to length, and holding conductors for the electric current supply of movable consumers. The electric conductors are moved by way of at least one carriage in conformity with the movement of the consumer along a guiding path, especially for rotatable superstructures. The carriage which may be similar to a trolley is equipped with at least one spool box having at least one rotatably mounted and easily exchangeable winding mandrel which is provided with a slot extending transverse to the longitudinal axis of the mandrel for passing therethrough a flat cable adapted to wind itself up. When the pre-load of the flat cable is reduced, a tensioning force can be exerted by way of remote control upon the winding mandrel. The consumer connection is provided with entraining mechanism which serves as cable carrier and is guided in the manner of a carriage or trolley.

  • Patent number: 3939782
Abstract: A fluidized bed-furnace for burning partly dehydrated sludge comprises a furnace housing having a bottom forming a surface for a fluidized bed. Side walls extend upwardly from the bottom and above the fluidized bed in defining combustion chamber above the bed. An inlet for sludge on one side of the housing extends into the side walls and a discharge for the sludge on the opposite side of the housing extends outwardly from the side walls. The bottom is made of a plurality of steps arranged at distinct elevations in descending order from the inlet to the outlet or discharge. Each step portion includes a grate having a wind box associated therewith through which heating gases and including combustion air is directed upwardly through nozzle elements which extend in openings of the grate. The entire bottom with all of the step portions are advantageously supported on a support structure which is suspended at the bottom of the furnace and it is advantageously removable from the bottom.

  • Patent number: 3939790
Abstract: A transport ship for transporting floatable cargo comprises a hull having a ballast system with a plurality of ballast tanks and with at least one cargo space which is capable of being flooded. The cargo space is closed by at least one sea door. The ballast system is capable of flooding the cargo space and adjusting the ballast of the hull in order to bring the water level of the cargo space level with the surrounding sea so that the sea doors may be opened and the floatable cargo may be floated directly into the cargo space. With the method of the invention, after the vessel is ballasted and the cargo space flooded in order to adjust the level of the cargo space water to the surrounding water level the sea doors are opened and the cargo floated into the space and aligned in stowage position.
