Abstract: The invention provides a synergistic surfactant composition comprising: (a) from 5 to 95 wt % of a first surfactant which is selected from derivatives of alkyl polyglucosides and mixtures thereof; and (b) from 5 to 95 wt % of a second surfactant which is selected from: amphoteric surfactants, cationic surfactants, anionic surfactants, non-ionic surfactants, and mixtures thereof. This surfactant composition may be used to generate foam that is used for unloading a liquid from a hydrocarbon reservoir. It may be that the liquid unloading of foam generated using the surfactant composition is greater than that of foam generated from the first and second surfactants when they are foamed individually.

Abstract: A composition of zirconium oxide and at least one oxide of a rare earth other than cerium is described. The zirconium oxide has a weight proportion of at least 50% and, after calcination at a temperature of 900° C. for 4 hours, the composition exhibits two populations of pores of which their respective diameters are centered. Abstract: The invention relates to a plasticizing composition comprising a vinyl chloride resin and a plasticizing agent which comprises at least one diester having the general formula (I), derived from a diacid selected from succinic acid, glutaric acid, adipic acid, ethylsuccinic acid, methylglutaric acid and mixtures thereof wherein: A is a C4 to C6 linear or branched aliphatic chain, and R is an alkyl, a cycloalkyl or an aryl. The plasticizing agent according to the present invention has a good performance for different types of formulations (foam, film and paste). Said plasticizer gels rapidly, has a very low viscosity, and ages very well. Efficient debubblizing is one of the key properties thereof. The foams prepared with said plasticizer have very low densities, a high expansion rate, and excellent qualities.
Abstract: A process of oxidizing an alcohol for the production of its corresponding carbonyl compounds is disclosed, wherein the oxidation is performed with oxygen or gases containing oxygen in the presence of a catalyst comprising at least a gold compound and a copper compound. Said alcohol oxidation by gaseous oxidant can achieve a high yield and selectivity with minimized degradation products or waste organic solvents.
