  • Publication number: 20090191108
Abstract: A method for treating/purification a gas containing nitrogen oxides (NOx) includes conveying same through a NOx trap containing a composition based on a catalyst for oxidizing NOx into NO2 and a compound based on zirconium oxide and praseodymium oxide in a proportion of praseodymium oxide ranging from 5 wt. % to 50 wt. % of oxide; such compound may further include cerium oxide and the subject process is useful for treating the exhaust gas of a Diesel or lean mixture gasoline internal combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20090105679
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for preparing thermoplastics to obtain a hydrophilic behaviour of the surface of objects made from said thermoplastics. The invention also concerns the additives used to obtain said surface hydrophily, said additives being mixed and jointly melted with the thermoplastics (mass-additivation process). The melted mixtures of thermoplastics and additives are shaped by any conventional means (extrusion, injection film stretching) to obtain the desired objects. The invention further concerns the uses of said thermoplastic objects with hydrophilized surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20090050557
Abstract: High-bond strength silicons having a median particle size of at least 100 ?m, a porous volume (Vd1), formed by pores whose diameter ranges from 3.6 to 1,000 nm, of at least 0.3 cm3/g, a mean pore diameter for the pores, whose diameter ranges from 3.6 to 1,000 nm, greater than 11 nm and a cohesive index (IC) less than 0.25 are provided. Also provided are methods for producing such silicons by silicon wet granulation, heat treating and possible sieving. The silicons can be used in the form of a liquid carrier, a catalyst carrier or additive and for liquid or gaseous filtering.
