Abstract: The present invention provides a water-based lime dispersion paint comprising a binder, a pulverulent, and one or more adjuvants. The binder comprises a film-forming copolymer of an alkyl acrylate monomer and a nonionic ethylenic monomer. The copolymer is dispersed in an aqueous medium and the dispersion is stable at a basic pH. The nonionic ethylenic monomer is capable of forming a homopolymer having a glass transition temperature in the range of 70.degree. C. to 170.degree. C. The pulverulent material comprises one or more pigments and airy slaked lime having a low hydraulicity index. The adjuvants are stable at a basic pH and include D-sorbitol as a stabilizer.

Abstract: Process for the preparation of latices of vinyl acetate polymers. Vinyl acetate is polymerized by itself or mixed with at least one copolymerizable monomer, in aqueous emulsion, in the presence of an initiator, an emulsifier and a protective colloid comprising a water-soluble polymer (a) containing at least one monomer of acrylamide, methacrylamide, or substituted or unsubstituted N-alkyl derivatives of acrylamide or methacrylamide and a water-soluble polymer (b) of ethylene glycol, the polymer (b) having a molecular weight between 1,000 and 50,000. The latices may be applied as binders in the manufacture of paints, glues, paper, textiles, floor coverings and mortar additives.

Abstract: Additive composition for an acid copper electroplating bath, which bath being well adapted for the copper plating of printed circuits, is comprised of (1) the sodium salt of .omega.-sulfo-n-propyl N,N-diethyldithiocarbamate, (2) polyethylene glycol having an average molecular weight ranging from about 6,000 to 20,000, (3) crystal violet, and (4) sulfuric acid.

Abstract: Organonitrogen compounds bearing a labile hydrogen atom directly bonded to a reactive nitrogen function, e.g., nitrogen heterocycles or substituted anilines, are N-alkylated with an N-alkylating agent in the presence of inorganic base and at least one sequestering agent having the structural formula:N--CHR.sub.1 --CHR.sub.2 --O--(CHR.sub.3 --CHR.sub.4 --O).sub.n --R.sub.5 ].sub.3 (I)wherein n is a number ranging from 0 to 10, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, which may be identical or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R.sub.5 represents an alkyl or cycloalkyl radical having 1 to 12 carbon atoms, a phenyl radical, or a radical of the formula --C.sub.m H.sub.2m --.phi., or C.sub.m H.sub.2m+1 --.phi.--, m ranging from 1 to about 12 and .phi. being phenyl.
