Abstract: The new plant variety ‘Pheasant Tail’ is part of the long leaves sansevieria varieties. It can reach 90 cm in length, with an average of approximately 4-7 leaves per plant. The new plant variety ‘Pheasant Tail’ is cylinder shaped, the arrangement of the leaves is in the form of a rosette. Leave colors are very different compared to its parent variety (‘Wintergreen’), but like its parent variety the new plant variety ‘Pheasant Tail’ shows also variegated bands on the leaves with no distinguishable margins and produces more leaves per rosette. Additionally, new plant variety ‘Pheasant Tail’ shows, unlike the parent variety, high resistance to anthracnose disease caused by C.sansevierae which gives the new variety a greater competitive advantage as well as its sister variety ‘Spearmint’ (Patent No. U. S. 32,333).

Abstract: A biotechnology process that employs membrane technology for obtaining an extract rich in tannins of ellagic acid from blackberries (Rubus spp.) and from other fruits that contain these compounds, as well as to the extract obtained using this method. The method is essentially based on baromembrane technologies that allow mechanical separation and effective fractionation between the polyphenol compounds, by interactions between the physico-chemical properties thereof, the material of the membrane and the molar mass of same, thereby allowing enrichment of a fraction of the natural extract with ellagic acid tannins and modification of the content thereof in terms of anthocyanins and other compounds such as sugars and acids.

  • Publication number: 20190075836
Abstract: A system and method for the preservation of coconut products via dehydration and freezing are disclosed. Via the systems and methods described herein, coconuts can achieve a significantly longer shelf life, without degradation of the coconuts naturally-occurring beneficial aspects. One exemplary embodiment of the invention discloses a method for the preservation of a coconut by dehydrating the coconut in a blast cooler with a dehumidifier and a blower. The combination of the cool temperature and the dry airflow over the coconut, cause the coconut to dehydrate, decreasing the amount of water inside the coconut. With less water inside of the coconut, the coconut can then be frozen in a shock freezer, without cracking the coconut. The coconut is then defrosted at a specific temperature for a specific period of time, to ensure the coconut shell remains dry, thereby preventing mold and mildew on the exterior of the coconut.

Abstract: Order information indicating a purchase order is received from an ordering device. Whether a display terminal corresponding to the ordering device from which the order information has been sent exists or not is determined using information which indicates correspondences between ordering devices and display terminals. Message information indicating acceptance of the purchase order indicated in the order information is transmitted to the corresponding display terminal. It is determined whether status information indicating that the message information was displayed on the display of the corresponding display terminal has been received from the corresponding display terminal or not. A cancellation period during which a process for canceling the purchase order indicated in the order information is accepted is started upon reception of the status information.
