Patents Assigned to Richmond Screw Anchor Co., Inc.
  • Patent number: 5152118
Abstract: The threaded end of a concrete reinforcement bar is enlarged in diameter so that the thread bottom exceeds the diameter of the surface ribs of the rebar. A coupler sleeve can then be advanced past the end threading and over the rib area, until the rebar end protrudes from the coupler sleeve. This allows splicing of two rebars without axially turning either rebar. Alternatively, the thread bottom does not exceed the maximum diameter of the rib deformations of the rebar but an immediately adjacent rib segment is flattened without removing rib material to preserve the net cross-sectional area of the rebar and maintain the tensile strength of the rebar. A pilot nose of reduced diameter leads the threaded portion into the female thread to facilitate thread alignment and can support a free standing rebar on a female coupling before engaging the threads.

  • Patent number: 4888922
Abstract: A kit of parts and method for setting a hoist anchor in a poured concrete structure includes a hemispherical rubber void body having an anchor head receiving cavity therein, the body including the cavity being partially split into two quarter sphere halves hingedly joined at a flat side of the body to allow hinging separation of the halves for insertion of an anchor head into said cavity, and a mounting stud threaded into a washer inside the void body cavity for drawing the center of the flat side against a concrete forming member thereby to flatten the flat side and urge the halves against each other to seal the void body against fluid concrete. Four variants of the kit are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4671554
Abstract: The device is an improved hoist coupling for use with anchors having an anchor shaft terminating in an anchor head and embedded in a concrete load in such a way that a portion of the anchor shaft and the anchor head is exposed and protrudes from the concrete body. The couple comprises a coupler body having an underside which is oriented towards and is seated against the load to be lifted, a socket formed in the upper side of the coupler body, in which socket is defined a ring bearing surface, and a hole in the underside of the coupler body opening into the socket for receiving the head of an anchor.

  • Patent number: 4619096
Abstract: Rebars to be embedded in a monolithic concrete structure are spliced together; also deformed rebars are spliced together across an expansion joint or construction joint between two or more monolithic concrete pours in that one rebar is provided with a threaded receiver barrel, possibly having a flange, and into which is introduced the, preferably, expanded and threaded end of the other rebar; no third splicing element is involved. Short rebars with a receiver at one end can also serve for defining anchor points in the outer surface of a concrete structure.
