Abstract: A portable viscometer, used in conjunction with a belt mounted computer, for making field viscosity measurements and for taking samples of various liquids such as paint mixes, asphalt cements, liquid asphalts, asphalt, emulsions, etc. A disposable cup, arranged at the bottom of a frame, permits the frame to be immersed in the fluid to be tested, a sample cup holder with fluid level probes is moved into position under the disposable cup and releasable stopper means permits fluid to drain from the disposable cup into the sample cup, with the computer timing the flow, and measuring the temperature.
