Abstract: An automatic document feeder includes a sheet feeding tray on which a document is stacked; a slit glass on which the document is scanned while moving; a discharge path in which the document is conveyed after the document is scanned; a document discharge unit to which the document is discharged through the discharge path; and a stamp device that makes a mark on a scanned surface of the document being in the discharge path. The stamp device includes a printing unit that faces the scanned surface of the document. The printing unit is movable between a first position at which the printing unit faces the document being in the discharge path and a second position at which the printing unit is retracted from the discharge path.

Abstract: A disclosed electric power consumption computation device includes an acquisition unit configured to acquire apparatus information from an apparatus connected to the electric power consumption computation device via a predetermined data communication path, and a computation unit configured to compute electric power consumption of the apparatus based on information on a number of output sheets output by the apparatus contained in the apparatus information acquired by the acquisition unit and a TEC value of the apparatus.

Abstract: A control system includes controllers controlling a session between communication terminals. Each controller includes a state management unit, first and second updating units, and a receiver. The state management unit manages state information of each terminal indicating a state of connection between the terminal and the controller. When the state of connection between a first terminal and the controller is changed, the first updating unit updates state information of the first terminal. When the state of connection between a second terminal and another controller is changed, the receiver receives, from the other controller, changed state information of the second terminal indicating a state of connection between the second terminal and the other controller after being changed. The second updating unit updates the state information of the second terminal based on the received changed state information. The controller controls the session between the terminals based on the state information.

Abstract: A screen generating method is implemented on a distribution managing system in which an image forming apparatus, a managing server, and a client device are connected. In the screen generating method, the client device receives input for designating an item for setting metadata on a generating screen; generates definition data of an input screen on which the metadata is set based on a descriptor that is arbitrary determined by a user for displaying the item on the input screen and the item designated on the generating screen; and transmits the definition data to the image forming apparatus.

Abstract: A sheet material conveying device includes: a sheet material housing unit; a sheet material conveying unit that conveys each sheet material to a predetermined conveyance target position; a separating/feeding unit that separates a sheet material from sheet materials in the sheet material housing unit and conveys the separated sheet material alone to the sheet material conveying unit; a multi-feed detecting unit that detects whether multi-feed occurs in which a plurality of sheet materials are fed from the separating/feeding unit to the sheet material conveying unit; and an internal sheet material detecting unit that detects presence of the sheet material in the sheet material conveying unit. The sheet material conveying device performs multi-feed failure detection control for detecting whether a failure occurs in the multi-feed detecting unit before notification of a detection result of the internal sheet material detecting unit.

Only when the transmission is permitted, the call control server originates a call to an address corresponding to the destination information to connect the communication terminal to the destination terminal.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a lid pulling mechanism that includes a hook to open a toner discharge opening by pulling, from the bottle head section, a lid member that is in contact with a bottle head section of a toner bottle to close the toner discharge opening, and the lid pulling mechanism pulls the lid member in a direction inclined upward with respect to a virtual line that extends in a horizontal direction. Therefore, the distance is decreased between the lid member and the bottle head section and above the toner discharge opening through which air easily passes; thus, intake of air from the outside to the inside of the bottle head section is prevented. Furthermore, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of spread of toner from the inside of the bottle head section to the outside of the container.
