Abstract: Gripping inserts used in a wrench having a collection of moveably positionable jaws which is pivotally affixed to a handle are described. The wrench and gripping inserts find particular application in drilling industries. Also described are particular materials and characteristics for the gripping inserts. In addition, methods for configuring and/or sizing the gripping inserts are described.

Abstract: A hand-held hydraulic assembly includes a work tool having a hydraulic cylinder or main body, a ram piston disposed in the hydraulic main body and a spring or other biasing member mounted on the ram piston. An interchangeable work head is selectively engaged to the ram piston of the work tool. The ram piston is axially displaceable in the main body for actuating the work head. A quick release coupling mounted to the work tool releasably connects the interchangeable work head to the work tool.

Abstract: A basin wrench is described having a telescoping assembly, pivotal jaws, a light, and a removable T-bar assembly. The wrench includes a polymeric housing having a contoured gripping region. The T-bar assembly includes a pivotally mounted hub and bar slidably retained within the hub. The T-bar assembly can be placed in a stowed position in which the bar is positioned alongside the housing. The wrench also includes magnetic retaining provisions to retain the T-bar assembly in its stowed position.

Abstract: A press tool for pressing a receiving part of a fitting onto a pipe is provided. The press tool includes two elastically-deformable press elements, each having a first end, a pressing region, assigned to the sealing section, having an inner shape that at least partially departs from a constant curvature in a circumferential direction, and a second end having a force input region and a stop surface. A hinge couples the press elements together at the first end of each press element. When the press tool is closed, the stop surfaces of the press elements abut one another, and when the press tool is closed and a pressing force is applied to the force input regions of the press elements, the press elements elastically deform such that the inner shapes of the pressing regions are substantially constantly curved in the circumferential direction.

Abstract: A tube expanding tool of a type having a body (1) with a pair of handles (3,26) arranged to move a tapered drift (15) into radially expandable jaws, characterized by a push rod (17) hingedly connected to the drift (15) and engaging a cam face (25) on the handle (26) pivoted on the body (1) to have the point of contact between the face (27) on the push rod (17) and the cam face (25) of the lever (26) positioned on, or adjacent to, the axis of movement of the drift (15).
