Patent number: 6382872Abstract: The invention concerns a method and an apparatus for the application of a marking (1) on a road surface (2), said apparatus comprising a vehicle which moves the apparatus over the surface (2). The marking material (3) is led from a supply container (4) to a distribution chamber (6) which, via a shutter (11), under slight pressure presses a band (12) of the marking material (3) out through an opening (14). The band of material (12) is led out towards a rotating axle (7) with blades (9). The material (3) in the band of material (12) is hereby divided into equal part elements (13) without the blades (9) touching the chamber (6) or any other parts of the apparatus. The influence of wear on the apparatus is hereby considerably reduced, even when use is made of material (3) containing abrasive additives.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2000Date of Patent: May 7, 2002Assignee: Rieber & Søn ASAInventor: Bo Winterskov

Patent number: 6116814Abstract: Method for applying markings or signs to a surface (1), such as road surfaces and the like, comprising the laying down of a layer of a heated mass of a thermoplastic material (3). Before the laying down of thermoplastic material (3) there is applied a primer layer (2) on the surface (1), consisting of a curable plastic material which comprises two or more components.Type: GrantFiled: May 29, 1998Date of Patent: September 12, 2000Assignee: Rieber & Son, Division Nor-SkiltInventor: Stein Dietrichson

Patent number: 5598920Abstract: A carrier (10; 10') for a series of bottles (2) having an upwardly conically converging neck (3) and an upper end (7) showing an outer thread for a screw cap (8), or a capsule fastened to an upper bottle collar. The carrier comprises initially a substantially flat sheet (1; 1') made of corrugated cardboard having five longitudinal sections, namely a central section (11; 11'), to the longitudinal edges of which connect two intermediate sections (12; 12' and 13; 13'), to which latter in their turn connect two outer sections (14; 14' and 15; 15'). The sections are separated from each other by grooves (17) and have openings (20; 20'; 21; 21', 22; 22'), which will be aligned, when the sheet is folded to a closed form of profile, an which openings are designed to be penetrated by the neck (3) and the cap (8) of the bottles (2).Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1995Date of Patent: February 4, 1997Assignee: Rieber & Son A/SInventor: Finn R. Patent number: 4368894Abstract: Reinforced sealing ring for reception in a pipe joint between an annular groove-carrying socket end and an insert end. The sealing ring consists of a main body of rubber in which there is embedded an upsplit steel ring. The sealing ring is adapted to be elastically deformable to such a degree that it can be snapped into place in the annular groove of the socket end by a simple mounting operation while it can be prevented from being torn or pressed unintentionally outwards from the annular groove after mounting. In order to achieve this the main body has a largest external diameter of between 1.08D+16 mm and 1.04D+8 mm, while the cross-sectional diameter or thickness of the steel ring is between 0.01D+2 mm and 0.005D+1 mm, where D constitutes the diameter of the pipe. The steel ring is disposed embedded in a central and/or radially outer cross-sectional portion of the main body.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1981Date of Patent: January 18, 1983Assignee: Rieber & SonInventor: Gunnar Parmann

Patent number: 4336014Abstract: The mandrel uses a single anchoring groove in order to fixedly mount the forming and sealing element thereon for subsequent passage of a heated thermoplastic pipe end thereover. The forward wall of the anchoring groove may be directed radially outwardly or may be inclined rearwardly in order to abut the sealing portion of the element. The sealing portion fills the anchoring groove while the trailing wedge-shaped end fits into a small recess to avoid "fish-mouthing.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1980Date of Patent: June 22, 1982Assignee: Rieber & Son A/SInventor: Gunnar Parmann

Patent number: 4299412Abstract: Combined mould and sealing element suitable for sealing off a joint between a socket end and an insert end of two cooperating pipes formed from a thermoplastic material and for being used as a portion of a body of a mould for both fabricating said socket end of the one pipe and simultaneously inserting said element in an internal groove in the socket end produced thereby. The element consists of a main body of annular form composed of an elastically yielding material housing a reinforcing core of relatively non-elastic material capable of retaining its shape relative to the main body. The main body has a radial outer portion which in its active condition is adapted to abut the bottom of the internal groove and in its inactive condition projects outwardly as a flap. Between the flap and an inner and opposing portion of the main body there is formed an opening dimensioned to facilitate ready introduction and housing of the core.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 1977Date of Patent: November 10, 1981Assignee: Rieber & Son A/SInventor: Gunnar Parmann

Patent number: 4120521Abstract: Combined mould element and sealing ring suitable for sealing off a joint between a socket end and an insert end of two cooperating pipes formed from thermoplastic material and for being used as a portion of a body of a mould for both fabricating the socket end of the one pipe and simultaneously inserting the ring in an internal groove in the socket end produced thereby. The main bulk of the sealing ring is composed of elastically yielding material having within its contour at least one zone composed of relatively non-elastic material capable of rendering the zone stable as regards its shape compared with the remainder of the ring. Conveniently, such zones are formed by stiffening rings permanently connected to the main bulk of the sealing ring.Type: GrantFiled: January 21, 1977Date of Patent: October 17, 1978Assignee: Rieber & Son Plastic-Industri A/SInventor: Gunnar Parmann

Patent number: 4097573Abstract: Method of bending thermoplastic pipes involving applying a source of heat to those portions of the pipe which are to be fashioned or shaped, applying a bending force to the pipe and cooling the bent pipe. The steps of the method are undertaken at one and the same location while the pipe is internally supported and has one end secured in a fixed position. Apparatus specifically designed to carry out such a method is also included.Type: GrantFiled: August 25, 1976Date of Patent: June 27, 1978Assignee: Rieber & Son A/SInventor: Gunnar Parmann
