Abstract: A sawtooth wire to be laid in a groove of a shredding-element-carrier of a disintegrating roll of an open-end spinning apparatus is brought into a shape, which essentially represents that shape, which the sawtooth wire is to assume on the shredding-element carrier. The sawtooth wire is preshaped on a dummy body, the circumference of which predominately conforms to that of the shredding-element carrier, or the sawtooth wire is directly preshaped on the shredding-element carrier of the disintegrating roll. The preshaped sawtooth wire is subsequently hardened, preferably inductively with the aid of a high frequency alternating current with a frequency of more than 1000 kHz. In this manner, a disintegrating roll is made, the abrasion resistant shredding element of which, after the preshaping, i.e., after is securement on the shredding-element carrier, is a hardened shredding element.

Abstract: The invention concerns an apparatus for the optimization of the regulation adjustment of a machine in spinning preparation, in particular a regulated draw frame, a carding machine, or a combing machine, to which one or more fiber bands are continually fed. The apparatus has at least one sensor which is positioned ahead of the feed end of a draw frame machine for the purpose of capturing the values of band thicknesses of one or more of the entering fiber bands. The apparatus also has at least one delivery end sensor located at the delivery end of the draw frame machine for the purpose of capturing the values of the band thickness of the produced fiber band of a first draw frame operational mode. The apparatus also includes a microprocessor for the comparing of the captured values of the at least one delivery end sensor to those of at least a second draw frame operational mode, whereby the second draw frame operational mode does not represent the normal operational mode of the draw frame machine.

Abstract: During the production of a yarn, and independently of fiber feeding into the spinning element, the air circling together with the opener roller during spinning is removed from the area of the housing which does not convey fibers by an auxiliary air stream which is so strong that it removes fibers and fiber fragments that have become detached from the opener roller and are circling with the opener roller. The auxiliary air stream removed from the housing is introduced into the spinning rotor in such manner that the fibers which are conveyed with it are deposited on the fiber collection surface. To remove the auxiliary air stream, an auxiliary channel is provided which is connected to the source of negative pressure independently of the fiber feeding channel and at the same time may let out into the spinning element.
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for the processing of a plurality of fiber slivers, in particular a drawing frame with drawing-in cylinders for joint feeding of the fiber slivers to the device. A funnel with a passage opening is provided in the device to unite the fiber slivers into a fiber sliver amalgam as the fiber slivers go through the funnel (1). The cross-sectional area of the passage opening of the funnel is adjustable.
