  • Patent number: 4465242
Abstract: The apparatus for safely inserting threads into individual bobbin tubes of a winding device comprises a suction gun to displace the threads from first thread guides provided at the apex of the traversing triangle to movable thread guides which are at first placed at the free end of a bobbin chuck. Subsequently these thread guides are moved to place the threads into a position in front of corresponding catching means which are formed at the bobbin tubes. The threads then are simultaneously caught by the catching means as the thread guides are jointly pivoted towards the bobbin tubes. Thereafter, the winding process is simultaneously started at all bobbin tubes.

  • Patent number: 4457058
Abstract: A take-off roll for opening fiber bales by loosening fiber flocks therefrom contains toothed discs mounted along and upon rotatable shaft. Each toothed disc comprises semi-circular or half-discs which substantially are in the form of half a circular ring. An approximately half or semi-circular ring-shaped cup is provided for each half-disc. Each of the half-discs is embedded in the cast cup or cup member, and the cup members of the half-discs which are assembled together to form one of the toothed discs surround the shaft in a substantially ring-shaped manner. The cup members are releasably mutually fixed and rigidly connected to the shaft by a press fit. Certain advantages of the inventive take-off roll consist in easy replacement of any damaged half-disc and its cup member, and a free adaptability of the staggering of the teeth between the toothed discs. This permits elimination of the occurrence of undesirable vibrations of the take-off roll.

  • Patent number: 4448016
Abstract: The invention relates to lubrication of a bearing of a spinning or twisting spindle which comprises a spindle shaft and a fixedly mounted housing. Lubricant is moved in a closed circulation path or system from a reservoir to a bearing arranged above the reservoir and back again to the reservoir. According to the invention, the spindle shaft is rotatably connected with the reservoir and is provided with a tube or pipe fixed to the housing and immersing into the reservoir. The tube is provided at its end which is immersed in the reservoir with an inlet opening towards which the lubricant flows during the start of the rotation of the reservoir. Thus, a back or dam-up pressure forms at the inlet opening of the tube, by means of which the lubricant is propelled upwardly within the tube forming a closed circulation path, emerges from an exit or outlet opening of the tube and again flows back through the bearing into the reservoir.

  • Patent number: 4438623
Abstract: The present invention relates to a gripper apparatus on a ring spinning or ring twisting machine for gripping empty and/or wound bobbin tubes using pegs mounted on a support beam extending along the machine and inserted into the interior space of the bobbin tubes, the bobbin tubes being gripped by pressing each bobbin tube and the peg inserted into it against each other. The pressing generally is effected using compressed air. According to the invention at each peg a cylindrical extension made of elastically bendable material is provided, which extension extends from the front end of the peg towards the tip thereof. This arrangement yields the advantage that in case of faulty positioning of bobbins, tubes a head-on collision of the peg front end on the upper bobbin tube rim, with accordingly grave consequences, such as e.g. damage to the support beam or blowout of the compressed air, no longer can occur.

  • Patent number: 4434532
Abstract: The textile fiber sliver is deposited in cans in the form of cycloid-type loops. During deposition, the sliver is delivered via a rotating funnel gear wheel into a rotating can. In addition, the mutual distance between the axes of rotation of the gear wheel and can is varied by laterally displacing the can. Also, the rotational speed of the can is varied during operation so that when the distance between the axes of rotation of the wheel and can is at a minimum, the can rotates at a maximum speed. Likewise, when the distance between the axes of rotation is at a maximum, the can rotates at a minimum rotational speed.

  • Patent number: 4384388
Abstract: The working conditions between two rotating cylinders (4,5), which are provided with a point clothing (9,19) and are processing or mutually transferring a fibre web, of a processing machine of the staple fibre spinning plant are always maintained on a predetermined value by adapting the distance between the surfaces of the two cylinders (4,5). For this purpose moving means (21) are used, which permit very precise setting of the distance between the rotational axes (8,14) of the two cylinders (4,5), and which are controlled by control means (22). To the control means (22) the measuring signal of a characteristic directly connected with the diameter of one of the cylinders (4 or 5), as scanned by a measuring element (25), is transmitted, and the control means (22) control the moving elements (21) in function of this characteristic. Thus complete elimination of the disturbing influences of the centrifugal force and of the increase in temperature of the cylinders onto the working conditions is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4370850
Abstract: Tension is reduced in the unwound length of roving remaining between the drafting mechanism and the package after the frame has been brought to a halt. This can be done by additional feed from the drafting mechanism after stopping of the other elements of the frame. A tension adjusting means is coupled into the drive to the rollers of the drafting mechanism to advance the mechanism the desired amount. The degree of feed may be different depending upon whether the stoppage is due to a break at one of a group of flyers, or to a doffing operation.
