Abstract: A pharmaceutical composition including a physiologically effective amount of a mixture of conjugated fatty acid(s) and polyphenol(s) is disclosed. Methods of formulation are further disclosed. Trienoic acids such as punicic acid are employed in exceptionally preferred embodiments of the invention. The invention has utility in management/treatment of a wide range of clinical conditions including, but not limited to, obesity, diabetes, cancer and heart disease.
Abstract: Physiologically synergistic mixtures of pomegranate extracts and methods of use thereof. Physiologically synergistic mixtures of pomegranate extracts are provided. A first mixture includes a pomegranate juice extract; and pomegranate seed oil. A second mixture includes pomegranate pericarp extract; and pomegranate seed oil. A third mixture a pomegranate pericarp extract; and a pomegranate juice extract. Disclosed methods inclod preparing components of disclosed mixtures, preparing the mixtures from the components and administering the resultant mixture to a subject in a physiologically effective amount so that a progression of a cell proliferation disorder is retarded.
Abstract: A mixture of a pomegranate seed oil product and a pomegranate juice product and a pharmaceutical composition containing same. The mixture, which is a cancer chemopreventive, includes a pomegranate seed oil product and pomegranate juice product. The pharmaceutical composition includes physiologically active amounts of pomegranate seed oil product, a pomegranate juice product and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. According to some disclosed embodiments, a pomegranate peel product is further included. Further disclosed is a selective estrogen receptor modulator and other biologically active compounds derived from pomegranates as well as methods of use thereof.
