Abstract: Rendering a digital element is disclosed. A geographical location of an observing platform is determined. The digital element is selected. A directional heading value of the digital element is calculated based at least in part on the determined geographical location of the observing platform. A captured image associated with the geographical location is obtained. The digital element is rendered on the captured image at least in part by using the determined directional heading value.
Abstract: Rendering a digital element is disclosed. An orientation of an observing platform is determined. It is determined whether a first rendering location of the digital element rendered on a captured image associated with a geographical location of the observing platform meets a criteria. In the event the first rendering location meets the criteria, a second rendering location of the digital element is biased using the determined orientation of the observing platform.
Abstract: Improving a perception of an augmented reality object is disclosed. A new location of an observing platform is received. A filtered location of the observing platform is determined based at least in part on the new location in a manner that reduces a rate of change of a rendering location of the augmented reality object. A new relative position of the augmented reality object is calculated based at least in part on the filtered location. A display of the observing platform is updated using the new relative position.
