Abstract: A stacked patch panel comprising two plates, such as printed circuit board, each provided with cable connectors and a separate supporting plate, made of rigid material, such as metal. The upper portion of the cable connectors of the lower plate lie in a plane adjacent to or below that of the bottom portion of the upper plate. The panel is also provided with means to anchor the cables and with means to hold the plates in relative alignment and to attach them to a supporting rack.
Abstract: A cable organizer including an elongate body having two opposite ends, one called a cable receiving end and the other called a terminal receiving end, and a plurality of wire-receiving passages formed in the elongate body and separated from each other by electrically conductive portions in the body, each wire-receiving passage extending from the cable receiving end to the terminal receiving end and being open at both ends, each wire-receiving passage being adapted for guiding therethrough a plurality of wires of a multi-pair communication cable from the cable receiving end to the terminal receiving end, and being adapted for arranging a plurality of wires of a multi-pair communication cable at the terminal receiving end for connection with a modular plug. The wire receiving passages have parallel but not coplanar surface portions that are joined by an intermediate portion. This causes a different wire receiving passage cross-section at the cable-receiving end compared to the terminal-receiving end.

Abstract: An interconnection monitoring system for use with a multiple node wired network, the system comprising a plurality of transmitters, each located at a node of the network for transmitting a transmission from the node and a plurality of receivers, each located at a node of the network, for receiving a transmission at the node, the plurality of transmitters being operative to transmit along the network a signal bearing an identification code identifying the node from which a transmission takes place, the plurality of receivers being operative to receive transmissions from a plurality of nodes, bearing the identification codes and thus indicating the interconnection status of the nodes.
Abstract: A local area network including cabling interconnecting a plurality of workstations, the cabling including a plurality of data ports and conductors for selectable and removable interconnection between selected ones of the data ports and apparatus for automatically providing an indication of the connection pattern of the data ports.
Abstract: A patching panel including a plurality of port and user socket pairs and apparatus for normally covering individual port and user socket pairs and normally and electrically shorting them together when in a first orientation and for uncovering both of the socket pair and breaking the electrical connection therebetween when in a second orientation.
