Abstract: An ordnance munition is included in an intelligent ordnance projectile delivery system and equipped with targeting and guidance systems that allow the ordnance munition to collaborate with other devices to intelligently select targets and/or to guide the ordnance munition to its selected target. The ordnance munition may determine its approximate current location, form a communication group with a wireless transceiver that is in close proximity, and send the approximate current location to the wireless transceiver and/or other devices in the communication group. In response, the ordnance munition may receive location information from the wireless transceiver and/or other devices that are in the communication group. The ordnance munition may determine its more precise location based on the information received from the wireless transceiver, and alter its flight path based in the updated and more precise location.

  • Patent number: 10045153
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced location information on or about a wireless device. A fixed wireless device (e.g., fixed infrastructure device) may be configured to determine its current location based on location information received from one or more other devices. For example, the fixed wireless device may determine its current three-dimensional location based on latitude coordinate values, longitude coordinate values, and altitude coordinate values received from a plurality of the devices that are in proximity to the fixed wireless device. The fixed wireless device may then dynamically determine whether the fixed wireless device should be included in a telecommunication resource lease based on its determined current location. The fixed wireless device may allocate its available radio frequency resources use by devices that subscribe to a different network in response to determining that it should be included in the telecommunication resource lease.

  • Patent number: 9877299
Abstract: Method, systems and devices for performing trilateration for a fixed infrastructure node (FIN) using enhanced location based information may include receiving a plurality of inputs (e.g., waypoints) from a plurality of devices, using the received plurality of inputs to generate an initial positional fix, and setting a current waypoint of the FIN based the initial positional fix. The FIN may receive additional inputs, and use the plurality of inputs to generate updated (more accurate) location information for the FIN. The FIN may update its current waypoint based on the generated updated location information. The FIN trilateration operation may also include applying three or four of the received inputs (e.g., waypoints) kalman filter, and reporting/using the output of the kalman filter as the device's current waypoint or location.

  • Patent number: 9860868
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced location information on or about a mobile device may include improved dead reckoning solutions in which the mobile device performs location determination calculations with the aid of network components or global positioning systems (GPS). The network aided location information may be provided to the processor and utilized in measuring the accuracy of sensor based location calculations. The mobile device may utilize local sensors to obtain a set of combined sensor output location information, which may seed execution of dead reckoning. To ensure that most accurate location information is provide to the enhanced location based service, the dead reckoning location information may be compared to a current best estimate. Results of the comparison may be passed to the enhanced location based service and the methods, systems, and devices may reiterate the location determination.

  • Patent number: 9838997
Abstract: Fixed infrastructure devices (FIDs) may be configured to work with other devices (e.g., other FIDs, mobile wireless devices, etc.) to obtain or improve location information and/or provide enhanced location based services (e.g., emergency location service, commercial location service, internal location service, lawful intercept location service, etc.) to other devices or programs. For example, a first fixed wireless device may be configured to receive information that was obtained via a geospatial system, and determine whether it is able to establish a location fix based on this information. In response to determining that it is unable to establish a location fix based on the received information, the device may establish a communication group and/or collect additional location information from devices that belong to the communication group. The device may use this information to compute a new three-dimensional location fix, and use this new fix to provide the location based service.

  • Patent number: 9774999
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for generating enhanced location information on or about a mobile device. A mobile device may be configured to determine an initial location value, compute an initial location accuracy value, compare the initial location accuracy value to a threshold value, and establish a communications group with a plurality of transceivers in response to determining that the initial location accuracy value exceeds the threshold value. In response to establishing the communications group, the mobile device may receive location information from the transceivers, use the received location information to determine a trilateration position value, and compute a trilateration variance value. The mobile device may then determine a final location value based on a combination of the initial location value, initial location accuracy value, trilateration position value, and trilateration variance value, and use the final location value to provide an enhanced location based service.
