Abstract: A tester for a cosmetic such as perfume or eau de toilette to be sprayed from a bottle (2) provided with a pressure-operated spray valve (3). The tester includes a holder (4) supporting bottles carriers (13, 29, 30); an assembly (16) for dispensing the product to be tested, including a dispensing tube (17) with a dispensing opening (20) at one end and a connector (21) releasably attached to the valve (3) at the other end; a manual control assembly (23) actuated when a user's hand is placed in the region of a suitably identified portion (24) of the holder (4); and an actuating assembly (25) controlled by the control assembly (23) to depress the spray valve (3). The dispensing assembly (16) is spaced apart from the actuating portion (24) so that the dispensing opening (20) is aimed at the user's hand when the control assembly (23) is actuated.
