  • Patent number: 6114710
Abstract: Dangerous packages, such as high activity nuclear packages, are placed in adjacent compartments (22) formed in the body (10) of transport packing. The compartments (22) are closed by individually closure plugs (28) and by a common cover (34) that works in cooperation with one face (17) of the body (10) with three seals in series. Connectors installed on the cover (34) and opening up between the seals, are used to make an inspection of the helium confinement. The steel inner casing (24) in each compartment (22) is doubled up on the outside with a copper weld free casing (50). This arrangement significantly improves the confinement inspection, enables a global helium inspection, and if necessary can be used to isolate an unsealed compartment (22).

  • Patent number: 6047835
Abstract: A clearing device for a centrifugal separator holds a cake on a filtering medium lining at least the perforated part of a rotating basket. The clearing device includes several clearing members which, when arranged at rest, are more or less parallel to the generatrices of the perforated wall of the basket and between this wall and the filter medium, are spaced angularly, each clearing member resting, via one of its ends, on one wall of the basket and being equipped, at the other end, with a control means capable of receiving a longitudinal compressive force which, by deforming the clearing members causes the formation of at least one convex projection which locally deforms the filtering medium. The clearing device also includes actuating means capable of coming into contact with the control means of each clearing member to shift it in the direction for forming the projection.

  • Patent number: 4702625
Abstract: In order to limit the horizontal displacement of the rotating assembly of the decanter at transitory speeds consecutive for example to an earthquake or other outside disturbance, a second series of shock absorbers is provided, disposed about the conventional shock absorbers and interposed, like the latter, between the bearing and the fixed frame, the operational characteristics of the shock absorbers of the two series being, of course, different so that those of the second series do not disturb the normal role of those of the first series.

  • Patent number: 4412707
Abstract: The invention relates to a bearing device for centrifuge, wherein the shaft of the centrifuge is supported by two elementary bearing support bodies mounted elastically on the frame independently of each other by elastic blocks and sleeves. Each body is fixed to a sleeve, these two sleeves, oriented towards each other, being connected by an elastic sheath so as to form a sort of hermetic oil chamber. The shaft drive pulley is of diameter less than that of the openings of the frame which surmount it, so that the assembly composed of the rotating pieces and the bearing arrangement can be extracted through the top by removing some screws, without actual dismantling.

  • Patent number: 4285462
Abstract: The present invention relates to a centrifuge with a turbine system for hydraulic control and the like, wherein the system comprises an annular member having a groove mounted to slide in a housing hollowed in the lower face of the bowl 4, this groove member being fast with a support wedged on the conical bearing surface of the shaft. The liquid arrives through the ports in a plate whose ports discharge into the groove. The liquid injected in 14 raises a movable bowl member and uncovers the ports for draining the sludge from the bowl. By overflow, a drain valve is suppled of the groove into another hydraulic path with liquid to open the bowl. The bowl 4 may thus be withdrawn from the shaft by being lifted without dismantling of its lid. The invention is applicable to centrifuges with hydraulic controls.
