  • Patent number: 9136664
Abstract: A method is for operating a pump light source having a diode laser, which provides a pump light, in particular for optical pumping of a laser device. The pump light source is activated in a first mode of operation such that the diode laser assumes a predefinable target temperature, which lies in a range of a maximum of the coefficient of absorption of the laser-active solid of the laser device. In a second mode of operation, following the first mode of operation, the pump light source is activated such that it generates pump light to build up a population inversion in the laser-active solid of the laser device. In a third mode of operation, following the second mode of operation, the pump light source is activated such that it generates pump light to activate a laser operation in the laser device.

  • Patent number: 7256563
Abstract: A method and a device for providing field-oriented regulation of a synchronous machine excited by a permanent magnet, in which a direct-axis voltage component and a quadrature-axis voltage component of the control voltage for the synchronous machine are determined from a quadrature-axis current component setpoint value thus determined and from rotational speed information using a stationary machine model in a decoupling network. These voltage components are converted into triggering pulses for the synchronous machine. The regulating system does not require any information regarding the phase currents of the polyphase system.

  • Patent number: 7232190
Abstract: A tank according to the invention comprises a casing, a filling port (5) extending, on the outside of said tank, into a filling neck (7), which is provided with a screw thread having a pitch (p) and which cooperates with a cap (9). The inner surface of the cap cooperating with the screw thread, at least one outlet port for the hydraulic-fluid flow towards a hydraulic circuit. The inner space (3) of the tank is connected with ambient air through two channels (45), that extend from a first lengthwise end (47) of the filling neck (7) to a second lengthwise end (49) of the filling neck (7) and through a helical passage (41) between the filling neck (7) and the cap (9) to connect the inside of the tank with the ambient air to avoid the development of negative pressure in the tank.

  • Patent number: 6295490
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for operating an actuator in a motor vehicle are proposed. A first and/or a second operating variable signal is determined and a fault check thereof is carried out. When a fault occurs, a first reaction is immediately initiated, which can represent, for example, a limiting of the adjusting speed and/or of the acceleration of the actuator. When the fault condition has been present for a longer time, a second reaction is initiated, which applies a substitute signal instead of the faulty one for control or which consists of a switching off of the actuator operation.

  • Patent number: 6000376
Abstract: A method and an arrangement for controlling an internal combustion engine of a vehicle wherein a desired torque value is pregiven, this desired torque value being separated into at least two desired values. The desired values serve to adjust the charge of the internal combustion engine and at least one further power parameter, which effects a rapid torque change. The at least two desired values assume different values at least in one operating state.

  • Patent number: 5959817
Abstract: A control device for operating a wiper motor (10) which utilizes the typical path of the wiper motor current (Im) with cyclically recurring minima during the detection of an overload of the wiper motor (10) caused by blockage or tightness of the wiper. During this process, a storage element (C) that integrates the motor current (Im) is short-circuited at least twice within a wiping cycle (Tw) during normal operation so that the transfer of the admissible overload from a half of a wiping cycle (Tw/2) to the following half of the wiping cycle (Tw/2) is prevented and the limit value (G) for the shut-down of the wiper motor (10) is not reached through accumulation of the admissible overload.

  • Patent number: 4483297
Abstract: A fuel injection pump is proposed, which has a centrifugal governor disposed in the suction chamber of the fuel injection pump, the governor having a sleeve displaceable on a piston, and a pressure chamber enclosed in the interior of the governor sleeve, the latter being defined by the end face of the piston. By means of a relief line of the pressure chamber which is opened in the offset position of the governor sleeve, the restoring force on the centrifugal governor is increased during starting by the amount of the pressure difference appearing at the governor sleeve. Beyond a predetermined adjustment of the governor sleeve, the relief line is blocked, so that the governor can function unhindered within the normal operational range. The hysteresis thus resulting upon the shut-off of the increased starting quantity improves the behavior of the engine as it runs up to operational speed.
