    Abstract: A novel class of gold-steroid compounds are produced by addition of aurothio substituents at various positions in steroids, particularly the 3-keto androstane, estrane and pregnane series unsaturated in the A ring. They possess potent anti-inflammatory properties and manifest unique therapeutic effects heretofore unavailable through conventional therapy.
