Abstract: A method of treating tumor cells comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of an antioxidant. In accordance with one aspect of the invention a method of treating tumor cells is provided comprising administering an antioxidant in an amount effective for sensitizing the cells to radiation or to a chemotherapeutic agent. Preferably, the method is used to radiosensitive tumor cells during radiotherapy in a mammal.
