  • Patent number: 5682825
Abstract: A height-adjustable work table has a support frame with at least one telescopic column having at least one support slidably displacable in the telescopic column. The work table has a table top and a weight-compensating device comprising at least one force reservoir and a pulling cable for adjusting the height of the support is provided. A force compensating device is connected to the weight-compensating device. The force reservoir has a first and a second end whereby the first end of the force reservoir is connected to the support frame and the second end is connected to the force compensating device. The weight-compensating device cooperates with the force compensating device such that for displacing the support the effective leverage of the force-compensating device is adjustable such that a counterforce generated by the weight-compensating device is at least partially compensated.

  • Patent number: 5593118
Abstract: A furniture frame, especially a table frame, that includes a support having upright support parts. Intermediate link members are pivotably connected to the support parts. A carrier member is provided that carries a panel and has carrier parts that are pivotally connected to the intermediate link members. The carrier member is movable between a lower position of use and an upper position of use in which the support parts, the intermediate link members, and the carrier parts extend upwardly and together with the panel enclose a free space. At least one connecting member is provided and has a center portion as well as end portions that are pivotably connected to the intermediate link members at pivot locations. The end portions extend upwardly from these pivot locations, and the center portion in the upper position of use, extends at least substantially in a region beyond the free space when viewed in the direction of the pivot axes of the furniture frame.

  • Patent number: 5478035
Abstract: A height-adjustable support leg for furniture has an upper leg portion and a lower leg portion. A pivot is provided for pivotably connecting the upper and lower leg portions. The lower leg portion is pivotable from a horizontal position, in which the lower leg portion rests on the floor, into a stretched position of the support leg in which the lower leg portion is aligned with the upper leg portion. A latching mechanism for securing the lower leg portion in the stretched position against pivoting is provided. The latching mechanism has at least one latch-shaped release element that is automatically moved into a latching position upon pivoting the lower leg portion from the horizontal position into the stretched position. The lower leg portion is non-slidably connected to the pivot.

  • Patent number: 5451080
Abstract: A height-adjustable support has a bearing member for connecting the support to a vehicle. A support member is connected to the bearing member so as to pivotable between a rest position and a support position. A follower is pivotably connected to the bearing member and engages the support member so as to entrain the support member at least in one direction of pivoting between the rest position and the support position. The height-adjustable support also has a drive unit for pivoting the support member. The support is especially suitable for supporting motor homes or trailers.

  • Patent number: 4798491
Abstract: A ring binder mechanism has a resilient mechanism cover, to be attached in use to a book-shaped binder cover, and two oppositely articulately connected, moveable, ring-rail or ring-coil members carrying ring portions which form rings jointly in pairs, resiliently supported in the mechanism cover to be actuated by means of at least one movable actuating member to open and close the rings. According to the invention, the actuating member is adapted for movement about an axis of rotation aligned substantially perpendicular to the mechanism cover and is provided with a gear coupling it to move the ring-rail or ring-coil members.

  • Patent number: 4690580
Abstract: The ring binder mechanism comprises a resilient mechanism cover which can be connected to the spine of a binder or cover, two toggle plates or toggle rods which are articulately connected in opposite senses and which are resiliently supported in the mechanism cover, and ring portions which cooperate in pairs to form rings and which are carried by the toggle plates or toggle rods, consist of drawn or rolled metal wire of non-round cross-section and have ends which positively interengage locally in the closed position. At their free ends, the ring portions have plane end faces which bear snugly against one another in the closed position and one ring portion of each pair of ring portions having a pin which is cylindrical over at least its main length and which projects perpendicularly from the end face and the other ring portion having a bore which is cylindrical over at least its main length and is sunk perpendicularly in the end face.

  • Patent number: 4678357
Abstract: A device for binding holed sheets or a ring book fastener includes a binding cover elastically supported by supporting elements and receiving a plurality of rings spaced from each other along the axis of the binding cover and connected thereto. Each ring is comprised of two ring halves which are releasably engageable with each other. Each ring half is provided at the end thereof cooperating with the end of the other ring half with a tooth-shaped projection engageable in a tooth gap-shaped recess of the other ring half so as to produce a lock preventing a displacement of the ring halves in the closed position in the direction transverse to the closing direction.
