Patent number: 7328903Abstract: A chuck has an attachment device for attaching the chuck to a machine spindle and a collet with clamping jaws defining an insertion opening at an end of the chuck opposite the attachment device. A sliding sleeve surrounds the clamping jaws and is axially moveable into a clamping position for clamping a machining tool inserted into the insertion opening and into a release position for releasing the tool. Between an inner circumference of the sliding sleeve and an outer circumference of the clamping jaws a contact path conically tapering in an axial direction and counter pressure members that engage positively the contact path are provided. The contact path is positioned at a slant relative to the axial longitudinal center of the collet. The slant angle is so small that under expected operating forces a self-locking action between contact path and counter pressure members is maintained at all times.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2005Date of Patent: February 12, 2008Assignee: Robert Schröder GmbH & Co. Patent number: 6851339Abstract: A hand grip of a screwdriver for bits has a grip member having a first end and a second end. The first end has a tool holder for the bits. The second end has a stationary core with a round magazine having bit compartments extending in the longitudinal direction of the grip member and a closure device rotatable relative to the round magazine. The closure device has a sleeve providing an ergonomic outer shape of the second end of the grip member. The sleeve is rotatably supported on the stationary core and has a longitudinal access opening which passes externally across the bit compartments when the sleeve is rotated relative to the stationary core. The access opening can be aligned with the bit compartments for removal or insertion of the bit. The sleeve has a longitudinal length such that the upper end and the lower end form a closed ring, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2001Date of Patent: February 8, 2005Assignee: Robert Schröder GmbH & Co. Patent number: 6742786Abstract: A clamping jaw for a tool holder chuck, wherein the clamping chuck has two clamping jaws arranged spaced apart and diametrically opposite one another relative to an axis of rotation of the clamping chuck and moveable toward and away from one another for clamping a tool shaft by moving the clamping chuck with a radial component, has a longitudinal slot having a slot mouth open toward the axis of rotation and a slot bottom. The longitudinal slot receives positive-lockingly the tool shaft and has slot flanks defining an approach angle at the slot mouth and a slot bottom angle at the slot bottom. The approach angle is greater than the slot bottom angle. The clamping jaw is manufactured with a disc milling cutter with opposed milling cutter flanks located radially outwardly and positioned slantedly relative to one another at different flank angles. The flank angles increase toward a center of the cutter body.Type: GrantFiled: November 13, 2001Date of Patent: June 1, 2004Assignee: Robert Schröder GmbH & Co. KGInventors: André Casel, Reiner Ranft

Patent number: 6641145Abstract: A miniature drill chuck has a drill chuck housing and a thrust member positioned in the interior for moving clamping jaws into their clamping position during a threading movement of the drill chuck housing onto a machine spindle. The thrust member is longitudinally moveable in a guide bore of the drill chuck housing while being centered circumferentially about its entire stroke. A pair of truncated cone surfaces is provided between the machine spindle and the thrust member, wherein the machine spindle centers the thrust member via the pair of truncated cone surfaces when loading the thrust member.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2002Date of Patent: November 4, 2003Assignee: Robert Schröder GmbH & Co.
