  • Patent number: 6079636
Abstract: A fuel injection valve, particularly an injection valve for fuel injection equipment of internal combustion engines, having a pump piston that can be activated using a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator for exerting a translatory pump motion. A spray-discharge nozzle with at least one spray-discharge opening is hydraulically connected via a fuel pressure line to the pump piston. The spray-discharge nozzle opens when the fuel pressure produced by the pump piston in the fuel pressure line exceeds a predetermined threshold. In the fuel pressure line, at least one non-return valve is arranged so that it opens in the direction towards the spray-discharge nozzle and closes in the opposite direction.

  • Patent number: 6076795
Abstract: In known retaining devices for electric motors, rotationally flexible retaining elements on the order of leaf springs are provided between a receiving housing and the electric motor and serve to decouple noise of the electric motor. The novel retaining device for an electric motor includes retaining elements that extend axially between a receiving housing and the motor housing. These retaining elements enable low-frequency decoupling below the frequencies to be decoupled; on the occurrence of natural resonance when the electric motor is turned on and off or there are shocks from outside, the torsional motion of the retaining elements is limited by stop elements. The retaining device is especially well suited to electric motors of blowers.

  • Patent number: 6076500
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and an arrangement for controlling the torque of a drive unit of a motor vehicle. The desired torque or the actual torque of the drive unit is set into a relationship with a pregiven maximum permissible torque and the actual torque is limited or is reduced when the desired torque or the actual torque exceeds the maximum permissible torque. In one operating state, wherein the torque of the drive unit is increased by an additional loading, the maximum permissible torque is increased.

  • Patent number: 6076404
Abstract: A micromechanical sensor includes a support of silicon substrate having an epitaxial layer of silicon applied on the silicon substrate. A part of the epitaxial layer is laid bare to form at least one micromechanical deflection part by an etching process. The bared deflection part is made of polycrystalline silicon which has grown in polycrystalline form during the epitaxial process over a silicon-oxide layer which has been removed by etching. In the support region and/or at the connection to the silicon substrate, the exposed deflection part passes into single crystal silicon. By large layer thicknesses, a large working capacity of the sensor is possible. The sensor structure provides enhanced mechanical stability, processability, and possibilities of shaping, and it can be integrated, in particular, in a bipolar process or mixed process (bipolar-CMOS, bipolar-CMOS-DMOS).

  • Patent number: 6076900
Abstract: A process and a device for controlling the brake system of a vehicle, in which in traction control and at the beginning of the control, a braking force build-up independent on the slippage takes place, which is stopped when a sizable braking effect is detected on the spinning wheel. Alternatively or in addition to this system, it is provided that, when the vehicle decelerates in active traction control, the braking force build-up pulses and/or the braking force decrease pulses are determined as a function of the measured slippage of at least one wheel, while outside these areas the pulses are determined so that the increase in braking force takes place in steps with the same change in the braking force.

  • Patent number: 6078157
Abstract: A circuit for operating an electric motor (10) has a triac (24) that is parallel to the electric motor (10). The triac (24) is acted upon by a first control signal (28) that is dependent on the voltage present at a first connection (11) of the electric motor (10). The triac (24) is further acted on by a second control signal (22) that is emitted as a braking signal by a motor-control circuit (19). The circuit of the invention, which includes a semiconductor component (24), permits both a braking of the electric motor (10) and the damping of an inductive voltage peak during the switch-off process of the electric motor (10). The damping of the inductive voltage peak is also assured after the separation of the voltage from an energy source (16).

  • Patent number: 6077056
Abstract: The invention relates to a high pressure reciprocating pump, for a fuel injection system of an internal combustion engine, having at least one piston, which is displaceably supported in a piston guide provided in a housing and therein defines a work chamber. Supported in the housing is a drive shaft, on which a crank element is provided on which a stroke ring, is not rotatable in the housing. The crank element is rotatably supported, the stroke ring has a slide bearing face, associated with the piston on which face the piston is supported with a slide face, so that the piston can be acted upon by the drive shaft. To reduce the danger of so-called seizing of the bearing faces moving back and forth on one another when poorly lubricating media such as fuel and in particular gasoline are being pumped, it is provided that a relief chamber, formed by a recess in the slide face disposed on the piston and open toward the slide bearing face on the stroke ring, communicates with the work chamber.

  • Patent number: 6078984
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method of operating a control system which includes a nonvolatile memory unit having memory banks and a volatile memory unit for storing programs and data. Access is permitted to only a single one of the memory banks of the nonvolatile memory unit at a given time point and the memory bank permitting the access is addressable by using addresses which are located within a memory bank address space. The memory bank address space is common to all memory banks and adapted to the size of the memory banks. The nonvolatile memory and the volatile memory are driven in such a manner that the memory bank permitting the access is only accessible in part. When an addressing attempt is made via an address, which is assigned to that part of the particular memory bank which is not accessible, the volatile memory unit is shifted into a state permitting an access and the volatile memory is addressed via the address.
