  • Patent number: 4632156
Abstract: A skeining machine has a looping member arranged to move in an elongated endless track having recurvate ends with a pair of looping needles arranged within said path to have a filament looped thereon during revolution of the looping member about the path with one of the needles being a spinner needle mounted on a rotatable shaft at an acute angle extending away from the other needle, and the spinner needle being disposed adjacent one of the recurvate ends of the looping member path and having the root of the connection between the spinner needle and the rotatable shaft on which it is mounted being disposed between the path of movement of the looping member and the center of recurvature of the looping member path.

  • Patent number: 4040643
Abstract: A load carrying vehicle such as a grain cart, or the like, and an adjustable axle assembly therefor for selectively changing the spacing of wheels mounted on the axle. The adjustable axle comprises two non-circular end members, and a connector or intermediate member which adjustably attaches the end members to the vehicle frame. The end members each have a shaft or axle attached at one end thereof for rotatably supporting a wheel. The intermediate member has two elongate portions, one of which is fixed to the vehicle and with each having a transversely diverging mid portion to fit and engage the end portions. The intermediate portions when engaged with the end members have side portions spaced apart so when pulled together they clamp the exterior shape of the end members and secure same in selected extended portion. Fastening members secure the two connector members together. Stop members extend from each end member, between the intermediate members and interjacent two adjacent fastening members.

  • Patent number: 3985458
Abstract: A locking device especially adapted to secure relatively movable concentric members together. The device is particularly useful for locking a bearing on a shaft or within a housing. Broadly, the device includes a locking part disposed between first and second concentric members and biased into a frictional engagement with a first of the members so that when such member moves relative to the second member, the locking part is moved frictionally engaging the second member for locking the members together. In one form of the locking device a coil spring is wound about and frictionally engages a first member within a second member and has a tang engageable with a recess in the second member for interlocking the members responsive to rotation of the first member. Another embodiment of the locking device includes an arcuate-shaped spring having wedge portions engaging a first member within a recess of the second member.
