One embodiment includes a navigational apparatus for traversing the roof and a roof shingle removal apparatus attached to the navigational apparatus for removing the shingles. The improved removal apparatus pries existing shingles from the roof, and then stores the shingles in a debris bin before emptying the shingles in a precise location.
