  • Patent number: 11284295
Abstract: A system and method for managing acknowledgments and retransmissions in a distributed manner in a MANET with 2-hop clustering structure. Clusterheads are in charge of assuring delivery of flooding packets to their members. After receiving acknowledgments from associated nodes in the cluster, and clusterheads perform retransmission when necessary with a list of acknowledging nodes. The non-clusterhead nodes receive the retransmissions and determine if that node's acknowledgment was received based on a list of node IDs included in the retransmission. If the node ID is not listed, the node resends the acknowledgment. The process continues until all acknowledgments are received and listed.

  • Patent number: 11280836
Abstract: A system and method for detecting failures in a single-phase AC motor is disclosed. After a startup sequence, the motor is unpowered and a measurement is taken across terminals in the motor to detect a signal from residual magnetism in the iron core of the rotor. If the rotor was successfully started, the signal will be above a predetermined threshold. The signal may be measured across either a main stator winding or a start stator winding. Where the signal does not exceed the predetermined threshold, the startup sequence may be re-initiated and/or a failure message may be sent to an operator.

  • Patent number: 11269063
Abstract: A high-speed light detection and ranging (LIDAR) system includes one or more arrays of transmitting laser diodes (TLD) fixed to a mobile platform; multiple such arrays may be arranged around the mobile platform instead of a single array rotating at high speeds. Each TLD of the array transmits, in sequence, a light pulse at a transmit time to illuminate a particular azimuth and elevation. One or more receiving photodiodes (RPD) are fixed to the mobile platform and configured to receive the reflected returns of the transmitted laser pulses. Signal processors allow the LIDAR system to “see” at high resolution by determining distance and directional information and generating point clouds based on the returned pulses.

  • Patent number: 11254440
Abstract: A system and method for Automated Aerial Refueling (AAR) may combine unrelated capabilities to provide a high integrity solution to boom manipulation and insertion to couple with a receiver receptacle. Precise positioning systems on each aircraft coupled via data link provide a high integrity relative positioning solution generating a requisite integrity for positioning yet insufficient for boom insertion. High definition cameras onboard the tanker provide multi-wavelength remote vision digital images used to identify the boom fitting as well as the receptacle. Combined with boom position information from the tanker, the system determines pixel position inputs from stereo digital images to precisely identify the boom and receptacle and manipulate the boom to insert the boom fitting into the receptacle. Constant camera generated feedback and updated relative positioning alerts the system and disconnects the boom should the receiver aircraft stray outside the proper position.

  • Patent number: 11249338
Abstract: A laminating machine and process for applying an optically clear adhesive film to a glass substrate includes a porous belt assembly with a plurality of vacuum pumps. The vacuum pumps define different, separately adjustable vacuum zones on the surface of the porous belt. The porous belt is driven linearly so that an optically clear adhesive does not move relative to the porous belt, but does move relative to the table, allowing the adhesive to be controlled to a compressive, neutral, or tensile state while being nip-rolled to the substrate. Since there is no motion of the film relative to the belt, scratching, stretch elongation, dimensional errors, and other slip induced damage is eliminated.
