  • Patent number: 4892047
Abstract: A sewing machine includes a presser foot 9 provided, at the front portion 9a thereof, with an engagement seat 21 through which two ribbon-like pieces of trimmings 15, 16 of different width to be individually and selectively fed to the presser foot, can be sent under a central portion 9b of the latter so that they are engaged by the line of sewing together with the workpiece. An adjustment element 23 is positioned in said engagement seat in order to define the useful width of the seat depending upon the width of the piece of trimmings to be used. A cutting unit 31 is slidably mounted along a guide element 34 and is movable from a rest position in which it is spaced apart sideways from the sewing machine supporting table 3 to a rest position in which it is located close to the supporting table to cut the piece of trimmings previously used.

  • Patent number: 4867082
Abstract: The invention herein described comprises a programmable microprocessor control unit 2 controlling a plurality of actuators 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, respectively associated with the differential feed dog, main feed dog and upper feed dog and/or with the presser foot and the tension group of an industrial sewing machine 5. On the basis of the adjustment parameters keyed-in in said control unit, each actuator individually causes the adjustment of the movements of each feed dog, of the pressure exerted by the presser foot and of the force causing the dish-shaped elements of the tension group to be moved close to each other to retain the threads interposed therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4829919
Abstract: The device herein described comprises a feed roller 12 rotated by a motor 16 and disposed before the presser foot 9 at right angles to the feed advance direction of the workpiece. Individually and selectively acting against the feed roller 12 are two pressure backing rollers 19, 20 each of which engages a respective piece of ribbon-like trimmings to push it against the feed roller which carries out the pulling thereof. The pressure backing rollers 19, 20 are supported by a swinging plate which is caused to oscillate upon the action of a fluid-operated cylinder 30 in order to make the backing rollers selectively engage with the feed roller 12 and therefore selectively feed said ribbon-like trimmings under the pressure foot 9.

  • Patent number: 4827857
Abstract: The sewing machine herein described comprises a hem folder 9 arranged to introduce an elastic band into the folded edges of a workpiece and a feed guide 16 arranged to apply ribbon-like trimmings along the edges of the same workpiece. The hem folder is oscillatably connected to the machine bed 2 and is movable, upon command of a fluid-operated cylinder 15, from a working position in which it is disposed flush with the workpiece supporting table 3 and before the presser foot 7 to a rest position in which it is tilted in front of the bed and disposed at a lower position than the supporting table. The feed guide which is connected to the machine bed by a rotary fluid-operated cylinder 20, is movable from a rest position in which it is spaced apart sideways from the supporting table 3 to a working position in which it has a free end 16a disposed before the presser foot.

  • Patent number: 4773342
Abstract: A control device for trimming knives on flat-bed sewing machines comprises a rocking lever 19 fulcrumed on a fixed pivot 20 and receiving an oscillatory motion from a connecting rod 18. The rocking lever operates a movable knife 14 through a drive group 21 provided with a movable pivot 29 slidably engaged in an elongate shaped opening 30 associated with the the rocking lever. A disengagement group 40 enables the movable pivot 29 to be brought from an engagement position in which it is in engagement with an engagement portion 30b of the elongate shaped opening 30 to operate the movable knife 14, to a disengagement position in which the movable pivot slides within a curvilinear portion 30a of the elongate opening in order to deactivate the movable knife 14. The displacements of the movable pivot 29 take place upon command of a disengagement lever 32 slidably engaging said pivot in the region of an elongate guide opening 32a.
