    Abstract: A latch comprises a latch plate, suitable for mounting on the underside of a table leaf, and a lever body which carries a claw, the lever body being suitable for pivotal mounting on the underside of an adjacent table leaf via a base plate. A retaining element, having notches for engaging the claw, prevents the lever body from hanging loose when in the unlatched state of the latch.
