In one aspect, a method for notifying of a roaming status of an electronic device is described. The method is implemented by a wireless service provider server associated with a wireless service provider. The electronic device is associated with a subscription service package of the wireless service provider. The method includes: detecting a roaming condition associated with the electronic device; and after detecting the roaming condition, retrieving financial institution information associated with the electronic device, the financial institution information identifying a financial institution, and sending a notification of the roaming status of the electronic device to a financial institution server associated with the identified financial institution.

In one aspect, a method for facilitating a connection between a public internet protocol (IP) address allocated remote management server (RMS) and private IP address allocated customer-premises equipment (CPE) devices that are serviced by a home gateway device (HGD) is described. The CPE devices are located within a different type of network than the RMS. The HGD implements the method which includes: receiving, from an operation support system, a request to download a service module stored on a storage server, the request including an identifier associated with a CPE device; in response to receiving the request, downloading the service module from the storage server; initiating the downloaded service module on the HGD; and in response to initiating the service module, instructing an identified CPE device based on the identifier to establish the connection with the RMS via the HGD.

    Abstract: A dynamic watermark generation method and system in which the dynamic watermark may have a default length or a shorter length, and wherein the dynamic watermark is generated to have the determined length. The dynamic watermark is a locally-unique code that is used as an index to a database entry that identifies the subscriber that requested the media asset. In some instances, the entry may include a timestamp, a subscriber device identifier such as a MAC address or IP address, a subscriber identifier or ID number, and a media asset identifier such as a static ID. The static ID may include a code that indicates whether the dynamic watermark is of a default length or shorter. The length of the dynamic watermark may be partly based upon projected audience size for the requested media asset.
