  • Patent number: 3989075
Abstract: A tree harvester functions to extract the entire tree trunk and attached tap root by gripping the tree above ground and sinking a "cookie cutter" around the trunk to sever the lateral root system. The cutter assembly is also provided with pressure foot plates which compact the soil and ultimately create sufficient upward force on the gripper to uproot or extract the tree.
