  • Patent number: 10250020
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are described for a radial bus Shared Resource Distributed electrical power Distribution System, which has multiple electrical power distribution platforms and a radial power distribution bus. The multiple electrical power distribution platforms are coupled to the radial bus in an interlaced fashion to supply AC electrical power to the downstream electrical loads. The electrical loads are dual corded and are configured to nominally receive AC electrical power from two separate power distribution platforms. A first power distribution platform electrically connects to a first set of the dual corded electrical loads. Also, the first power distribution platform electrically connects to a second set of the dual corded electrical loads. A second power distribution platform electrically connects to the first set of the dual corded electrical loads, and the second power distribution platform electrically connects to a third set of the dual corded electrical loads.

  • Patent number: 9923371
Abstract: A ring bus Shared Resource electrical System (SRS) has at least an essential electrical power ring bus and a critical electrical power ring bus as well as multiple SRS electrical power distribution platforms. Each SRS distribution platform includes one or more interconnected essential switchboards and two or more interconnected critical switchboards. Each essential switchboard is coupled through the essential electrical power ring bus to essential switchboards of two other SRS distribution platforms, and each critical switchboard is coupled through the critical electrical power ring bus to critical switchboards of two other SRS distribution platforms. Each SRS distribution platform directs power to one nominal load group and as well is configured to distribute power to a load group nominally supplied by another SRS distribution platform. One or more controller in each SRS distribution platform synchronizes the output voltage of SRS distribution platforms.

  • Patent number: 9480176
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are described for a pre-wired and pre-engineered integrated platform for power supply and distribution that is pre-assembled, scalable, and modular. The skeletal framework of the integrated platform acts as an equipment support structure as well as a cable routing support system. A set of cables having wiring is routed along the skeletal framework of the integrated platform and goes to two or more cabinet enclosures mounted onto the skeletal framework. The skeletal framework acts as a National Electric Code approved raceway system to support and route the set of cables to the electrical equipment in the mounted cabinet enclosures. The integrated platform supports the weight of the one or more cabinet enclosures mounted onto the skeletal framework.

  • Patent number: 9431798
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are described for a monolithic, pre-wired, pre-engineered, and pre-assembled integrated platform for a critical power supply and electrical distribution system that is scalable and modular. The skeletal framework of the integrated platform acts as an equipment support structure and includes an upper superstructure and a lower superstructure. Two or more cabinet enclosures are mounted onto the lower superstructure where their weight is supported by the skeletal framework. One or more National Electric Code approved (NEC-approved) electrical cable routing support systems are mounted onto the upper superstructure. The skeletal framework also includes one or more vertical columns that are connected between the upper superstructure and the lower superstructure. The skeletal framework and the cabinet enclosures are fabricated in place as a monolithic, pre-wired, pre-engineered, and pre-assembled integrated platform prior to being installed.

  • Patent number: 9398717
Abstract: An integrated platform assembled with different electrical cabinets and components mounted on a framework in order to provide a complete datacenter critical power distribution package. The integrated platform supports the weight of cabinet enclosures and UPSs mounted onto a skeletal framework, which acts as an equipment support structure and a cable routing support system. Main and redundant power supply wiring is routed along the skeletal framework to and between the cabinet enclosures and the UPSs mounted thereon. Electrical connections between the cabinets are internally connected via bus bars as switchgear cabinets. The skeletal framework has top and bottom rails run substantially parallel to each other with cross bars connecting the top and bottom rails and a top horizontal surface to which one or more of the cabinet enclosures are mounted. The skeletal framework and cabinet enclosures are fabricated prior to installation and installed as a monolithic pre-wired pre-assembled integrated platform.

  • Patent number: 8384371
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system in which a neutral deriving transformer incorporates a zig-zag transformer configuration is provided. A zig-zag transformer provides an electrical load with a neutral wire. The zig-zag transformer may be electrically connected downstream of a main AC voltage step-down transformer. Additionally, three phase AC voltage lines can be routed to the zig-zag transformer such that the zig-zag transformer comprises a neutral deriving transformer that electrically connects to a ground conductor. The neutral deriving transformer might not be electrically connected to a neutral conductor of the main voltage step-down transformer. The zig-zag transformer can phase shift each winding by approximately 120 degrees and may derive a neutral for at least one single phase load connected to the zig-zag transformer and one of the three phase AC lines in order to provide a common neutral point that takes the place of a neutral cable that connects back to the main AC voltage step-down transformer.
